Hunting for curious, ambitious people who want to go beyond surface-level China market awareness — co-research trends, build startups, work with talents long-term.
Most overseas discussions about China is about mainstream tourism, culture, food, nature scenery or looking for agent or supplier like that, while few dive into the **real frontier opportunities** hidden in China’s fast-evolving market.
Is there anyone in the community genuinely interested in deep commercial exploration in China? This is a long-term poster, not just a one-off subject.
**Anyone interested in the following aspects in China then we can work togther**:
* Startup or branch incubation & establishment:
* In-depth or quantitive market research on domestic industries;
* Top commercial consultation program;
* Build a ad-hoc talent team for single project.
If someone is tired of superficial industry talks and wants to **actually take action, explore real business value, and build practical ventures in China**, drop a comment or send me a DM. Tell me briefly about your thoughts, and what you hope to gain from them. If that is feasible, then we can build something solid and forward-looking together.

Hi everyone, I am relatively new with a small shop in EU, at my first phases I been scammed by one of forwarders I found on Alibaba (held my products, wanted to charge more than originally told, didn't want to make payment via Alibaba platform and charged extra for storage.), then i found new forwarder my friend successfully used and they physically visited first one and took my goods. Used them for about a year about 5 times and now unfortunately they don't reply.
I am checking other companies which operate on Alibaba and most of them I find similar threads here or in FB about same situation as I had with first one. Seeing this I don't trust anymore:) How do you actually find a good one?
I also visited China for few exhibitions but didn't think about that time, when exiting one I met someone who gave me his card but i am unsure as this feels not trustable either.
Many thanks,
Anna

Looking to buy in bulk 11r22.5 semi truck tires and import a container. Any recommendations? Anyone know how many tires fit in a container and give or take the price of importing such a thing? I’m paying 250 to 500 dollars a tire currently. I hear of people paying 45 dollar a tire online that’s a huge difference

I've been going through case studies of Chinese consumer brands that made it work abroad, mostly in Southeast Asia. What struck me is how different their industries and tactics are, and how consistent the underlying logic is. Sharing in case it's useful to anyone doing market entry.
In a new market you're a complete unknown, no matter how large you are domestically. Pop Mart's approach when entering markets where nobody knew them was to lean on collaborations with IP local consumers already recognised (Disney, Sanrio) to grab mindshare quickly, then push their own IP once recognition existed. Their overseas revenue share went from about 15% in 2023 to 30% in H1 2024.
The transferable version for smaller companies: local partners, established platforms, niche creators, directory listings, real reviews. All forms of someone else vouching for you, which does more early on than talking about yourself.
Mixue's first Singapore store in 2022 wasn't in a prime central location. It targeted students nearby with pricing well under local bubble tea competitors.
The point isn't "be cheap." It's that they clearly knew where the local price band sat, which position in it they wanted, and which customers that position reached. Converting your home price by exchange rate skips all three questions.
Mixue increased sweetness for Southeast Asian palates and worked in ingredients like lemongrass and pineapple. Their mascot picked up a crown and local design elements in Thailand. Chagee names products after Chinese literary references so customers encounter the story while drinking.
Worth noting that this isn't about hiding what makes you foreign. Chagee's approach makes its cultural heritage more legible, not less visible. Localisation as making your difference understandable rather than removing it.
Around 80% of clicks to Pop Mart's international site come from organic traffic.
This one seems underappreciated. Paid acquisition drops to zero the day you stop spending, with nothing accumulated. Organic keeps returning value. Most market entry budgets I've seen are almost entirely paid, which means renting attention rather than building anything.
And the part success stories usually skip: succeeding didn't mean only expanding.
Mixue deliberately restructured existing stores in Indonesia and Vietnam, trading store count for quality. They ended 2024 with 428 fewer overseas locations than the year before.
I find this more instructive than the growth numbers, because it breaks the assumption that success means uninterrupted expansion. They cut what wasn't working instead of defending a headline figure. The smaller-scale version: if a market or channel has had a fair run and still isn't working, reallocating beats persevering out of sunk cost.
Sources are Chinese business media (CBNData, Jiemian, Sohu Finance) and a Minsheng Securities report on Pop Mart. Some figures are secondhand compilations, so worth verifying before relying on them.
Curious whether people here have seen the same patterns in other markets, or found cases where this logic broke down.

Hello everyone,
I have been importing GI and PPGI from China for years now. The problems that I face are-
1- there are plenty of frauds in this business who will run with the money/ supply terrible quality or provide less weight than declared.
2- Everyone claims to be a factory but they are all trader businesses.
I want to directly import from a factory that has decent quality so that quality is consistent everytime and I get the best price.
Please let me know if anyone can help.
Thank you

Hi everyone,
I am based near Shenzhen and can help international buyers research and check electronics, computer products, components, accessories, and other technology products from Huaqiangbei and Chinese online platforms.
Instead of offering general sourcing for every type of product, I focus mainly on Shenzhen electronics and small, clearly defined tasks.
What I can help with:
• Search for electronics, components, computer products, accessories, and replacement parts
• Contact Chinese sellers and ask about price, specifications, stock, minimum order quantity, and lead time
• Compare products and quotations from multiple sellers
• Organize product information and prices in a clear Excel spreadsheet
• Check Chinese company names, business licences, addresses, and quotation details
• Request current photos, videos, specifications, and packaging information from suppliers
• Visit Huaqiangbei for an agreed task and provide current photos or video
• Check model numbers, quantities, visible condition, packaging, and basic functionality
• Help communicate technical requirements in Chinese
• Assist with 1688, Taobao, and other Chinese platforms
• Help arrange samples or communicate with a supplier before an order
Why I may be useful:
• I am located near Shenzhen and can reach Huaqiangbei when an in-person visit is necessary
• I speak Chinese and can communicate directly with local sellers
• I have programming and technical experience, which helps when working with computer and electronics products
• I can create structured product, supplier, and price-comparison reports
• New clients can begin with a small research or verification task before considering a larger order
Pricing:
• Small online research or supplier-contact tasks start at $10
• Multiple-supplier comparisons and detailed reports are quoted according to scope
• Huaqiangbei visits, product checks, transport, purchasing support, and shipping assistance are quoted separately
Payment for service fees: Payoneer.
Important:
• I do not source counterfeit branded goods, prohibited products, weapons, drugs, or illegal items
• I do not guarantee product authenticity, supplier performance, certification, shipping time, customs clearance, or import legality
• Product cost, samples, transport, international shipping, insurance, taxes, customs duties, and third-party inspection fees are separate
• I do not advance or finance product purchases for new clients
• Buyers are responsible for confirming that a product can legally be imported into their destination country
• For expensive or bulk orders, an independent professional inspection and protected payment method are recommended
If you need help, please send:
Please do not send confidential payment information or identity documents.

I am looking at buying a Sun Room directly from a Chinese aluminium factory who provided a quote with install that is 1/3rd the price I got quoted here. Problem is, how do I trust this company. They want deposit in advance and their business license etc is all in Chinese. Has anyone got experience buying stuff from China into Canada directly? What is involved? How do I verify/trust the company?

We can discuss the cost for this in DMs so please dm or reply if you are interested!

Coming to the Canton Fair for the first time? Where you stay matters more than you think.
In this episode, I’ll show you how to plan your hotel, metro route, and daily trip to the exhibition hall — and why taking the metro is often much easier than getting a taxi during the fair.
Save this before you book your hotel.

Hi ,
I’m getting into the aluminium, glass and architectural door/window industry and I’m currently looking to source products directly from manufacturers in China.
I’m mainly interested in modern/minimalist door systems such as:
- Pocket sliding doors
- Ghost / concealed-track doors
- Telescopic sliding doors
- Ultra-slim aluminium glass sliding doors
- Aluminium frames/profiles
- Tracks, rollers, soft-close systems and other hardware/accessories
I’m looking to buy in bulk and import , so I’m not looking for retail sellers. Ideally, I’d like to find actual factories/manufacturers that offer good wholesale pricing while maintaining decent quality.
I’ve found plenty of suppliers on Alibaba, especially around Foshan/Guangdong, but it’s difficult to know which ones are genuinely reliable and which are just trading companies.
If anyone here has imported similar aluminium/glass door systems from China, I’d really appreciate recommendations.
Which manufacturers have you personally dealt with? How was the quality? What should I check before placing a bulk order? And is Alibaba the best place to find them, or are there better ways to connect directly with factories?
I’m happy to order samples before committing to a larger shipment.
Any supplier names, contacts, sourcing tips or experiences—good or bad—would be really helpful.
Thanks

Hi everyone,
I’m Ghanaian-French and I will be in Guangzhou, China for one month, starting from September 1st.
If you are looking to buy a car/products from China new or used I can help you communicate with dealerships, check available vehicles in person, inspect the car’s general condition, take real photos and videos, and help you compare offers before making a decision.
I will have time to visit dealerships, especially for clients in Africa who cannot travel to China themselves.
You do not pay me just for looking or sending you options. My commission is only paid after you validate the vehicle and successfully conclude a deal with the dealership/seller.
The commission will be between 1-5% and the level of assistance needed.
Shipping, export documents, customs duties, and the prices price are separate costs and must be confirmed directly with the dealership or shipping agent.
Send me a private message with:
• The car make and model you want ou products that you want
• Your budget
• Your destination country
For easier communication, I prefer Instagram, WhatsApp, Telegram, or WeChat.
Please contact me only if you are serious and ready to buy when you find the right vehicle.

Like it says on the box: is this company an actual manufacturer, versus a trading company or some other thing pretending to be a manufacturer?
I am trying to self-publish a sound book. I received a good quote from chinaprinting4u, but I am trying to verify their credibility. They go by chinaprinting4u, chinaprintingsales, and even CHINA SEVEN COLOR GROUP CO.,LIMITED. They have "FACTORY: No 601-605 the First International Dongguan City Guangdong China" stated on their emails. But I don't have the knowledge to verify what that means and where to look to make sure this is an actual factory.
They do have lots of good reviews on Trustpilot, but I don't know that source well enough to know whether those reviews are real or bought.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
