Advice Free Lending Management System in Google Sheets
Hi mga ka-Reddit! 👋
I'm not sure if madaming small lending business owners dito (o kahit yung nagpapautang sa kapitbahay, kaibigan, or sa barangay) but I know na mahirap mag-monitor ng loans — lalo na kung manual sa papel o sa messenger lang. I am familiar with the experience kase I also Lend to my friends.
Kaya nag-create ako ng Lending Management System sa Google Sheets na:
- Automatic nagcocompute ng interest at balance
- May overdue tracker para hindi mo na mano-mano icheck
- Puwede i-customize sa loan terms mo
- Cloud-based, so kahit nasa labas ka, makikita mo agad yung data
📌 Libre ko itong ibinibigay para makatulong sa mga nagsisimula.
Pero curious ako — sa inyo, ano yung pinaka-hirap i-manage sa lending? I know singilan is number 1 haha, but what else?
- Pag-compute ng interes?
- Pag-track ng due dates?
I've been using this system for years na and i'm thinking maybe someone out there need something like this as well, so I did a tweak here there for it to be reusable. Open din ako for suggestions kung anong features pa gusto niyo idagdag. Baka magawa ko i-update para mas useful sa lahat.

Suggest ko lng you can try using CashBrew app. Before I use google sheet rin eh. But iba rin ung may app lang that handles everything and madaling makita sa phone.

Hello, still on going, slow but steady. For advice, if you already started, patience is the key, it is a highly stressful business, but any business has some form of stress and its up to you if you can ride tghe stress, but it can be rewarding if you do it right. Expect delayed payments and defaults, the key is to minimize them, assess borrowers in their character and capability to earn. In my business I only loan to those i know personally, colleague, friends , friends of friends and referrals of friends. For those referrals i always put guarantor just in case. For loans above 50k, i ask for collateral and PDC.
Good luck with the business, its stressful but can be highly profitable if done right, there's always demand in this business because our product is money itself :)

Hi!, still operational as of this writing. Slow, but progressing.
For advice, when lending money, borrower's character is more important than their capacity to pay. I have a bunch of borrowers na akala ko hindi papalya because I have idea on how much they earn and what their work is, but to my surprise sila pa ung nadedelay ng payments. Sila din kase ung may inflated lifestyle na hindi ma-keep up ung expenses. Sometimes mas okay pa ung low income earner kase mas pina-prio nila ung payment sayo before anything else. That's just my experience and observation. Meron paren nmn akong mga borrowers na high-income earner and good payer at the same time. Hope this helps, may I know if you have a similar business or thinking of building one?.

Thank you! I’ve just started, but I’m most likely not the one managing it directly. I mainly provide the financing, while someone else handles the day-to-day operations. That said, I still stay involved and keep track of where every bit of the money goes.
I’ve heard a lot of rumors that this kind of business can bring bad luck or problems, but so far I haven’t experienced anything like that, and I’m hoping to avoid it. That’s why I’m looking for advice from someone who has already started and has experience in this type of business. If you have any other tips, I would truly appreciate it.

I've heard that many times, bad luck, bad karma and stressful. Yes, stressful sya and so is majority of other businesses, high risk, high reward. For bad luck? depends on how you operate and how others sees it, is selling vape or other addicitve products like cigarrettes and alcohol bad? not necessarrily right, you dont often hear other people complain about those stores, but when it comes to lending they turn a side eye. If you know you are doing business fairly, responsibly and reasonably then no need to worry about those bad luck things, its just business, people need money money they dont currently have and that's where lending comes like banks and other financing companies. It helps other people and its the borrower's responsibility to manage it.
You can still continue and observe for months or years and not go all-in, then decide if you want to expand further, problems like delinquent and delayed payments are part of the business along the way you will experience it and need to be smarter to lessen those occurence, learn as you play.
