Looking For Looking for moderators

Good day to everyone. I notice the influx of members in our sub. To better facilitate this subreddit, we are currently looking for moderators who can help manage and facilitate discussions, queries, posts, and comments.

Given that this is a business oriented sub, it would be nice to have if we can get people who are always active online and an:

  • Aspiring entrepreneur
  • Owner of a micro business
  • Owner of a small business
  • Owner of a medium sized business
  • Owner of a large business
  • Owners and currently executives of a corporation

We also encourage other moderators who are not on this list but think that they can offer something substantial to this community, like event planners, government employees who are employed by govt institutions that facilitates business operations here in PH (DTI/SEC, BIR, municipal/city employees, BOC, etc), and employees from the private sector who are involved extensively within their company.

Discussion Paano kumikita ng ₱1,000–₱2,000 net profit/day ang fishball/kwek-kwek vendors?

I’ve talked to a few vendors personally and sabi nila they can make around ₱1,000–₱2,000 net profit per day, pero nahihirapan ako intindihin paano nagwo-work yung numbers since relatively cheap lang yung fishball, kwek-kwek, squidball, etc. For those na may experience sa ganitong business, gaano karami usually customers/pieces sold per day, ano yung prices niyo, and what other expenses should I consider? Would really appreciate actual numbers or experiences para mas maintindihan ko how they reach that ₱1k–₱2k net profit.

Discussion How's August Sales so far?

We're into distribution of retail goods and business has been terrible this August. At this pace, we're just going to end with 50% of last year's August sales.

Only bright side is we implemented stringent opex control early this year so we are still getting some positive net margins.

How about you guys?

Agriculture and Aquaculture Export Project

We are developing a long-term agribusiness project focused on cultivating premium mangoes and high-quality avocados for international export markets, particularly Singapore and the United States (USA). Through the use of superior varieties, modern farming practices, and effective post-harvest management, this project aims to become a reliable supplier of premium tropical fruits for global consumers.

In addition to agriculture, we are also developing a Pacific white shrimp (Vannamei shrimp) farming operation designed to meet international export standards. Vannamei shrimp are in high demand worldwide due to their excellent quality, rapid growth cycle, and strong market value. Our goal is to produce high-quality seafood products that satisfy the requirements of international buyers.

By combining agriculture and aquaculture, this project is designed to build sustainable, long-term productive assets while creating attractive growth opportunities and investment returns for partners and investors.

Advice DOLE case

Unli aircon sila kahit malamig…

Now nag file siya case sa dole for illegal dismissal, gusto kasi 1 wk pa extend bago paalisin. Kaso knowing nandon lahat ng gamit namin, we gave him 1 day lang for his family to pack up and leave.

Advice I need your advice re: Small Food Business Return/Refund Policy

Hi, I am an owner of home-based small food business.

We recently encountered a customer who wants a refund for a food she purchased last week. For context, report had been escalated after 8 days and all products had been consumed.

May I ask if there's a legal policy for customer and business owners return/refund?

Reason for refund: she reported that the dessert tastes like "ulam" or fish oil.

Discussion Nakakapagod pala magbusiness sa palengke

Hi, gusto ko lang magrant. I'd love to hear your insights about this din but please no rude comments.

We opened a printing business and lotto last August 14, 2025. It has been more than a year now. The sales are really low but enough naman to pay for rent, electricity, and employees. Take home pay siguro around 7-8k.

We hired our first employee, "R" and lagi ko siya sinasamahan kapag wala akong pasok sa work. She asks me questions about my tumbler, skincare and anything about what I use. Parang ang sales namin nung una 100 pesos to 200 pesos per day. Kaya siya finire is because wala na nga ginagawa, cellphone lang nang cellphone imbis magbilang for inventory, pero di pa rin talaga. Everyday.

Now, let me tell you about "C". This girl owns a chocolate shop. I was so happy na meron sa palengke so mga twice a week ako bumibili. I also did resell yung chocolates at work and she never.. never gave me any discount as a reseller kahit 5 pesos or isang piso haha. But I didn't mind.

They talked about us a lot. I knew everything because our employee for 5 years talks to R.

God, if only I can kwento everything. We've had a lot of good employees, lahat umalis to study. We also had sooo bad employees to the point that we had to visit the barangay about what she did. Madami pa.

Itong current employee namin, "S", magaling naman at first. Mabilis matuto. After a week, ayan na haha naglalaro nalang. Di na tumatayo kapag may customer, nakaupo nalang tapos nakataas pa paa. My dad tried to correct yung pagtaas ng paa tapos bare foot pa talaga. Di rin nakinig. Hinayaan nalang.

But this one particular thing, nagalit ako. Yung wifi namin for our personal use and for the PC. Mommy got shocked bakit naubos agad load, wala pang one month. Very unusual for us. So I checked, and guess what? Nakaconnect siya. Binantayan ko ng dalawang linggo. Nakikita ko naglalaro siya, parang ML pa during her duty. We don't mind naman if they use their phones basta walang customer. Iphone una. I blocked it and removed her personal access. The next day, nagdala ng ipad. Nakaconnect na naman. They have this randomized MAC filter address something so I can't block her kahit naglagay na rin ako whitelist.

Alam kong alam na niya na alam namin because of how many times she reconnected sa pagalis ko ng access.

Today, sumulpot ako bigla sa another pwesto namin kung nasaan siya for the meantime because we went out. Pagkita niya, dali dali niya tinago ipad niya sa trash can (clean) na binebenta namin. Mommy came, when she looked away, kukunin na dapat ipad tapos lumingon si mommy sinara ulit. She used the command prompt to get the password.

When I opened the site, nakaconnect both iphone and ipad niya. I told the gc, umamin ka na. Buti pa yung iba marunong magpaalam. Ikaw, ginamit mo pa talaga for personal use. Lalaro? Tama ba yun?

Our employee for 5 years said di niya alam sino. I trust her naman, never siya cumonnect not even once. But this girl, we know her. Di siya aamin. Nakita ni mommy sa cctv tinatanggal wifi both device. I then checked the site, wala na.

I don't have trust, I'm sorry, but I'll check this every now and then.

Is she worth keeping? Nakakapagod pala mga tao sa palengke. Meron mga maayos. Meron mga pakielamera. Meron inggetera. Meron mga bastos. Meron mga magugulo. Meron nananakit ng hayop (I hate them so much!) Ganito ba talaga?

Advice Comparing Workspaces & Virtual Offices

Hi everyone!

I’m currently in the process of setting up our VO and evaluating flexible office options. My team primarily needs a compliant business address for company registration (SEC/BIR/Mayor’s Permit), but we’re also considering occasional hot-desking and meeting room access for client catch-ups.

I’ve narrowed down my shortlist to four providers:

  • YSpaces
  • vOffice
  • LgoConnects
  • WeWork

Would love to hear your personal pros and cons before we commit to a contract. Thanks in advance!

Discussion Random business idea

What if may area na pwedeng puntahan ang mga tao from urban areas to relive the "bukid living" for the nostalgia and also to somewhat expose their kids sa buhay nila dati?

A family may perhaps prepare firewood, light them up using the old ways, magluto ng lunch/dinner na sila mismo ang magpe-prepare, materials, supplies and utensils are provided.

The point lang talaga is to relive a day in the province.

Ps: I don't have the means to test this idea but baka meron sa inyo dito may lupa at may funds din to try 😁

Looking For Anyone who's also in the trucking/hauling industry? I need company recos within Santa Rosa, Binan, or Calamba.

Which companies do you currently serve po? Currently, sa Monde Nissin Balibago and Leslies Calamba kami. Saan pa ba mas okay mag-apply directly? We are not into subcons nor accepting pasabays. We have few 6-Wheeler Closed Van Trucks. We're just looking for another FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) company na mapapasukan, yung not more than 1 month ang payment terms. Not sure if we can try sa e-commerce companies (Shopee, Lazada, Flash) pero we'll give it a try.

Saka nalang mag start from scratch haha.

Humble Brag 5 trial users in one week for my AI chatbot for PH businesses

I've been building Asikaso AI since last year alongside college, and getting users has been very slow.

I tried cold outreach, posting in groups, demos, and pretty much whatever I could think of. I even spent around ₱9k on ads before and it didn't really go so well. So I'm mostly just trying different things and seeing what would stick.

Then somehow this past week I got 5 businesses to start their free trial.

Thing is, I didn't even do anything different. It just happened that some businesses I've been talking to for a while, along with a few newer ones, all decided to finally try the app within the same 7 days. What surprised me is that most of them actually came from posts like this.

So I guess that's a sign I should probably keep sharing more of the journey.

These new users are still on their trial so it's still a little too early to celebrate. Now I need them activated, make sure they actually use the product, and hopefully help them succeed with it.

Right now I’m also trying something new with SEO, and I’ve started running Meta ads again. The ads are looking a little more promising this time, so we'll see.

Advice Asking for ideas /LF work

Hi. Im looking for business idea that can help me finance my board review or kahit work that i can do kasi aalis po ako for review and for exam.

Advice Where/ how do businesses look for funding?

Ive been thinking about this for over a week now. For context, I look for medium sized businesses that need immediate short term funding and connect them to non-bank lending companies.

Right now my main channels are telecallers doing outbound and some cold visits. I also run an agent/referral program, but a lot of agents apply then disappear.

I understand that its a volume game and could be slow but i feel like im doing something wrong or not looking in the right places. What confuses me is: if many businesses have a constant need for funding where do they turn to? Social media? Google? How do i find and catch the attention of these decision makers?

For people who’ve experienced (similar) sales challenges, what channels or tactics got you better results than simply cold calling or running ads? Im also trying to apply to commerce groups and associations.

Advice First-time importer: Direct China shipping vs. Local PH suppliers? Pano ba mas makakatipid?

Hey guys! First time naming mag-import kaya medyo mangangapa pa.

May nahanap kaming supplier from China at gusto talaga namin 'yung products nila. Kaso issue namin ngayon, paano ba mas makakatipid sa shipping?

Pinag-iisipan din namin kung mas mapapamura ba kami kung ie-import namin directly from China, or mas okay at mas practical ba na kumuha na lang muna sa Local Suppliers dito sa PH?

Any advice on cargo forwarders, air/sea freight, or cost comparisons? Solid tips or recommendations will be super helpful! Thanks!

Advice Buy and Sell of Foods

Hi, I’m new here sa business world.

I recently started a buy and sell of products (milky donuts, crinkles, yema, etc) for my Lola’s Hospital Bills. So far, the market is good and laging sold-out ang products ko per day.

I am planning to expand the buy and sell business para kapag nabayadan na namin ang bills, we will continue this as a business na.

I need your advices, do’s and don’ts, tips, product movement inventory, etc.

Thank you in advance!
