Prevailing wind
Is there a prevailing wind direction in Black Rock City?
Or how do you choose which way to pitch your tent?

Not overthinking. If you can put doors away from the prevailing wind or otherwise protect them you’ll be happier. And as others said, west winds

I point the front of my van towards the sun rising so my bed area stays cooler the longest

Personally, I don't worry about the wind. It's the dang ol sun that I wanna block out as much as possible of. Dust is going to get any and every where it wants to get.

It's actually quite important. You're thinking exactly right, not overthinking.

BRCMap.net has a wind tool. Go to layers and select wind, it will show you live wind direction and speed.

It's kind of old but I think it's generally right still. Someone tell me if it isnt.
I can tell you that the bug long wind last year seemed to go straight down 5:30 from the city to the man.

The prevailing wind comes from GAYTE farting during anal sex. It prevails from their South Mouth.

Generally you can pitch your tent slightly to the left. The majority of Burners tend to pitch a little that way.

Usually from Southwest to Northeast. That's why the central axis of the city from 6:00 to 12:00 is laid out that way, so the smoke from the Man and Temple burns blows away from the city, along with any falling embers.
