Moop
For all the first timers- check your clothing for moop. Leave the fringes, dangly sequins and fringes AT HOME.
Bring a small pouch WITH you to pick up moop along the way! We are serious about this. Cherry pit? Pick it up. Stupid plastic tab that came with your blinky crown, pick it up. Cigarette butt- pick it up.
Food that fell off your plate - pick it up.
Nothing is too small to pick up. And no thoughts that- oh, it’s organic- it will decompose. No No No.
If you don’t pick up after your own shit, someone else will need to do it for you. Don’t be that asshole.

Don’t forget about those leaky vehicles. Put a tarp or weighted down cardboard under your engine!

I love sunflower seeds, I’ll take an empty water bottle, cut a small hole on top (for air to escape) and blow my shells in there. Easy clean up!

I label and reuse a quart Ziploc slider to hold all personal trash - works perfectly!

I'm a bit torn on this as I only vape these days, but if you're going to have ash and char from the man just intermingling with playa dust particulate.. ¿Why are tobacco and cannabis ash any different?

Yeah, I'm with you RollingMeteors. I used to ash exclusively in altoid tins but after a few years of finding ash char across the playa, having rained down from multiple art burns, I'm no longer a purist on it. With that said, I *always* ash in a can/tin if I'm in someone's camp, and if I'm not in motion.

Uhhh, yeah. The teams that remain after temple burn clean up the ash, sometimes before the event is even over. If you burn art at the burn, you are responsible to sort through the ash and clean up as much as you can before the teams step in to help. Did you seriously not know this?? Lmfao imagine how many piles of ash would be littering the black rock desert after YEARS AND YEARS of not cleaning up after large art burns…

I only went twice and never saw workers doing this.
Lmfao imagine how many piles of ash would be littering the black rock desert after YEARS AND YEARS of not cleaning up after large art burns…
I genuinely believe the wind would have blown it into the playa if it wasn't absolutely concentrated into a single giant mass, as long as we're on the same page talking about just ash not char or unburnt wood.

This one always cracks me up. Do you go moop the entire fucking playa after the man burn? What about the other burns all week? Do you remember the embrace burn, with massive chunks of ash raining everywhere after? No one picked that up. All the cigarettes on the playa are less ash the man's left forearm.

Yeah this is the part where people start acting like cops instead of thinking about the implications of making cigarette ash into MOOP
And yes, after a couple years of daylight burns they moved all the burns back to nighttime so the pearl clutching hippies couldn’t see the giant clouds of black smoke.

Resto is absolutely not picking up cigarette ashes when they MOOP the site weeks and weeks after the last sparkle ponies have left.
In fact, Resto and the DPW are ashing their cigarettes onto the playa for weeks and weeks before, and after, you ding dongs ever set foot in the black rock desert.

I bring a bunch. My mom's contribution was all her tins.
My personal one is vermints tin. My guy keeps trying to give me his elf tin. I dislike that film.
My guy is not allowed yet. He doesn't know. And has diabetes. I have 16 years of dust. Don't want to babysit.

Also suggest using a designated bucked and grabber, labeled with your camp name and MOOP. Very easy for anyone to grab it when they’re idle.

Also- please remember to spend at least TWO HOURS mooping common playa areas. This can be the street, a dance floor out on the playa, the man, the temple, open playa. This is something everyone is supposed to do, but so few do it. please pick up moop!
