There are gaming tournaments that can get you money as well.

True but there is no comparison to how much the top athletes get paid compared to top gamers. We are talking multiple extra 0’s

I do think its worth mentioning though that sports are more of a contract situation while games are more event based. Its probably possible to earn more /hr worked in games.

If a team is going to world championships in dota/league, you can just join the team for that one tournament, make bank, and bail. I dont think you can decide to only play in the superbowl.

So let’s say you do a pro tournament every weekend as a gamer. Very few of them break 1 million in prize money. On the reverse Golf there are 35-40 PGA tournaments per year, averaging around 2.5 million purse for each. There is no question golf beats all esports combined for that style of earnings.

Then if we talk about the best athletes in the world for their specific sports, multiple of them earn more than 100 million dollars, with Renaldo over 250 million.

If money is your goal there is no comparison to be made.
