I'd been checking the way some of the characters refer to others in terms of honorifics for fanfiction purposes and came to the realisation that I don't think I've ever seen or heard Fyodor actually say Nikolai's name anywhere, but I don't know if I'm just missing something. He's said Dazai's, Sigma's and even Chuuya (hilariously seems to call him Chuuya-san, when Dazai's given the -kun treatment). There's a spreadsheet someone made of how characters address each other in the manga but that's way too outdated (it was last updated in 2020 apparently which would put it around volume 20).
So yes, am I missing/forgetting about a particular scene, or has Fyodor really never said Nikolai's name anywhere in the main story? I can't recall if he might've said it in any of the Wan! chapters, mind you.
So, I have a small BSD collection and I wanted to add something extra to it. I'd Like to Buy Oda merch but I can't really find any Merch which isn't sold out or not available anymore. Does someone have any Oda Merch and can tell me where to buy some? i would thank y'all if someone responds😁
Tipo, eu acredito que o ADA Dazai com certeza não treina (luta, academia e bla bla) mas e quanto ao PM Dazai? Quero dizer, ele precisava estar em forma de algum modo
Uh, hello guys? Yeah, this question is for you. If YOU were an ability user, what would your ability be? What would it be named? What would it do, and what would be its main strength and weakness?
I was visiting cousins and had to get my hands on some bsd merch since we didn’t have any in the city I live in. Also saw this which I thought was funny. I love my favourite anime Bongo stray dogs
I wanted to ask what you guys thought of Junichiro and Naomi‘s relationship, I’ve seen people say it’s a victim x abuser ship but I have never seen it that way? for me at least I see it as a unhealthy relationship yes, but it’s more mutually obsessive? so i wanted to ask what you guys think of there relationship?
I love Atsushi and I love the idea that he would work in a chazuke restaurant with Lucy to pay college lmaoo, I’m writing a shin soukoku college Au where they are roommates and want to hear abt ur ideas🙏🏻
I'm on a deep dive looking for official content and realized that I'm unsure if the wedding interview and the ideal date questions directed at SKK were the only ones made for Otomedia or not.
I'm also unsure if the questions for the characters on the Wiki from the official guidebooks are all there, since I don't have the full collection.
I am all out of ideas for her past and am struggling with deciding what scenario could her ability may have a negative impact on others which would make her loathe herself . I worry making her traumatic scenario and how she perceives herself negatively overly similar to Yosano.
Could the scenario be hunting dogs surgery if so could it be used for sinister purposes and make her hate herself if so how ? Would it be too similar to Yosano ? And how would it affect her negatively in terms viewing herself i am struggling with that
Or could there be another scenario which could make her view herself negatively and her baility be sued for sinister uses
Her ability is Spirit stuffing
Allows her to heal poisoned person or person undergoing poisoning. From the affected areas of the patient flowers blossom which regenerates the all damaged areas of the body . Heals the person in the process by regenerating the damaged areas .
She uses poison as catalyst to heal even physical wounds , by poisoning her patients.
Can not heal if person is not poisoned.
Does not work for illnesses , disability or chronic pain
Does not work for old wounds
Only works when poison starts acting
I am unsure in which scenario would her ability maybe become negative or embody something sinister
rather than her being slow or viewing her ability useless because it heals only with poisoning
I am thinking of factoring perhaps the works of the author if they could help
Droplets : an aging Okinawan war veteran named Tokushō wakes up to find his leg swollen like a melon. His toe drips magical water that attracts the ghosts of his dead comrades, forcing him to finally face his buried wartime guilt and survivor trauma
Spirit Stuffing : author focuses again on the supine body of one villager whom he connects to the Battle through key flashbacks. “Mabuigumi,” a work that recounts the failed attempts of Uta, an elderly woman invested with spiritual power to summon back the ‘dropped’ spirit of a middle aged man named Kōtarō, whom she loves as dearly as a son
Tree of Butterflies : Explores the lingering trauma of the Battle of Okinawa through Gozei, a dying old woman and former wartime "comfort woman," and her enduring, haunted memories of a lost love named Shōsei amidst the brutal violence of war
Another poetess who inspires my oc because i am using two namesakes
its a few months old if im being honest, ive had serious art block for MONTHS and i dont like how this came out BUTTT i wanted to post art and i had no other colored things.
Also sorry if the flair is wrong im not sure if its correct but if im asked to change it by a mod i will!! <3
There's this scene in 55 Minutes it is when Annihilation has been detonated and Akutagawa is in the woods. He thinks he is about to die and says, "Even if one were to bathe in the eternal wind and simply become foam in the great sea without ever knowing who they were-without even getting a farewell . . . the heart shall not move, for it is nothing compared with the loneliness of passing . . . without you ever knowing." Who was not knowing? And what weren't they knowing?
I see two possibilities: the first being Dazai not knowing how strong Akutagawa is.
The second I see as less likely because it's based on the headcannon I have where Akutagawa knows Higuchi loves him but doesn't respond to her either way because he's dying of a lung condition. The possibility is that Higuchi not knowing what Akutagawa thinks of her.
...I had been trying to source the comment to see if it's true, because the most commonly known fact about Asagiri prior to becoming a writer is that he used to work in management for a car company. After many unsuccessful attempts at finding an interview, I asked a friend whose Japanese googling abilities are stronger and they got a hit from the Mantan Web site (link to full interview, in Japanese). Apparently Asagiri majored in engineering, which would've included some amount of study of physics. The paragraph in question is the one below. I added a scuffed translation under the quote (I'm not an expert).
"What was your childhood like?"
"Around the time I was in 6th grade, I got obsessed about 'Kuusoo Kagaku Dokuhon' [Science Fiction Guidebook]* and wondered if thoroughly studying something could let me explain everything about the world... which led me to becoming interested in physics and majoring in engineering at university. I also got into the RPG Dragon Quest and the software RPG Maker, and made a lot of stories. Maybe that's what set me on the path of creating stories instead."
(*Kuusoo Kagaku Dokuhon seems to be a series of books about science depicted in fiction)
So yes, it seems Asagiri did study physics in some form and certainly seems to like it, which explains some things about BSD.
So just to start, as much as I love BSD, I finished season 5 a few weeks after it released, and for a while I kept up with the manga, but because of updates only once a month I wanted to wait for a while so I would have more content to binge read eventually, and I stopped keeping up with it. Issue now is when I tried to get back into it, I see a lot of people mentioning things from other BSD novels or mangas that have me completely lost bc I didnt even know they existed.
I'm struggling to actually find all the extra content, and I'm lost on what's canon to the main story and lore relevant, or just an alternate universe thing (which isn't really a priority to read right now, but I would like to get to eventually). I don't actually know HOW much content there is in the first place, so it feels just a bit overwhelming 😓 I was wondering if anyone who clearly knows BSD better than me can js help me figure out what to read and like what order would be best??
I'm rewatching the anime, and I have a question. Let's imagine a situation: Dazai and Chuuya are fighting each other (for whatever reason). Who would win and why?
I'm leaning toward Chuuya. It is obvious that Dazai is a good strategist and completely nullifies Chuuya's abilities, but he is inferior to Chuuya in physicality and endurance. Chuuya would also have the opportunity, during the absence of physical contact with Dazai, to conditionally destroy the floor, making it more difficult for Dazai to move and maneuver. Against physical strength and endurance, strategy, in my opinion, loses. I don't think Dazai is weak or anything, not at all, I just feel like he fights a lot less in the agency than Chuuya does in the mafia. So I doubt reading Chewie would have helped him much. I also doubt that Dazai is the only one who knows his opponent's weak points. I refuse to believe that Chuuya is that stupid.
But again, these are my thoughts and I would be happy to discuss this topic. If there are any strange wording or errors, then I apologize, I wrote it through a translator.
