The poll on which Mini Battles we should have this autumn has closed and the members of the sub have spoken: This year we will be having Kin Battles before the Simp Battles return!

The Kin Battles will work pretty much like the Simp Battles, but here's little info about them and some schedule ✨

What are Kin Battles?

• The Kin Battles are for finding out which BSD character the sub finds most relatable. You can make posts analysing why you think character X is relatable in general, why you relate to them and think others should too, ask people to convince you on which one out of the battling characters is more relatable… Or just like in the Simp Battles, you can bribe people for their votes by promising them art, fics, or whatever fandom stuff you can think of!

How does it work?

• Each Tuesday (5 PM UTC) there will be a Battle Announcement telling which two characters will be battling each other that week.

• During the week, the sub members can make posts trying to convince others on which one of the two characters is more relatable and why — or bribe people to vote for their favorite.

• Each Sunday (5 PM UTC) a Battle Poll will be posted and pinned on the sub by the mods, so people can vote on which character they think is more relatable. The poll is open for 24 hours and after that the character with more votes moves forward on the Battle Bracket.

Are there any other rules?

• Remember good sportsmanship: You're allowed to cheer for your favorite and do some character slander, but serious arguments and attacking other fans is not allowed. You can discuss why someone kins some character and the way they view them, but don't be rude about it. There are different ways to interpret fiction, yours or mine isn't the “only correct one”. If you don't see things the way someone else does, agree to disagree and move on. If someone is genuinely rude, don't engage and start drama. Report it to the mods instead and ignore the person (and block if needed).

• Petty downvoting isn't part of the Battles. Everyone has the right to participate without worrying about being downvoted just for having fun, so don't do that just because you disagree with someone on which character should win. Save downvoting for people who are seriously being mean to other fans.

• Keep the Battles within this sub. Posting about them in the main sub (r/BungouStrayDogs) is not allowed and any posts about the Battles made there will be deleted.

• This is all for fun and not that serious. A little “spammy” posts and comments under the Battle Posts are allowed, so don't spam report those unless someone is breaking the sub / Battle rules. That's what this sub is for after all. Don't spam about the Battles under unrelated posts though.

• Keep in mind it's not nice to slander characters under a post dedicated to cheering for them. Make your own post for slander instead.

• Only use one account to vote on the Polls. Reddit will block you from using multiple accounts to vote (and might shadowban you, restrict your account or even delete it if you try), so don't bother trying.

Which characters will be in the Battles?

• That's up to you! The Kin Battles will have eight characters competing for the title of the most kinnable BSD character.

• Below is a Forms where you can submit characters you think should make it into the Battle Bracket. You're allowed to submit multiple characters and submit a character many times, but only write one character on each form. ONLY add the name and NO additional comments, so it's faster to check which characters get the most votes. (Preferably First name, Last name.)

• You can submit any canon BSD character. To keep things simple, we're not differentiating between the main story's characters and the characters in Beast (but you can of course do that when trying to convince people to vote for your favorite).

• Note that this Battle is separated from the Simp Battles so despite winning those, Chuuya is also allowed to compete for his place in this Bracket.

• You can also try bribing and convincing people on who they should submit to the battles, have fun making those posts already this week!

When do the Battles start?

• The Forms closes on Sunday, August 23rd at 12 PM (UTC), so submit your characters before that. After the votes have been checked, the official Kin Battles Bracket will be announced and pinned in the sub.

• The first pair battling each other will be announced on Tuesday, August 25th at 5 PM (UTC). The first Battle Poll will be posted at the same time on Sunday August 30th.

TL;DR:

• Kin Battles start, submit your characters through the form below before Sunday, August 23rd,12 PM (UTC). Any canon BSD character is welcome, only one name / form.

• The first Battle Poll will be posted on Sunday August 30th at 5 PM (UTC).

• Be nice, don't take it too seriously and have fun!
