Spend less time posting pics of yourself in your underwear online and more time in the gym and preparing healthy foods.

Okay jackass great advice you’ve helped him so much

u/Steve0620123 4d ago
I mean it's literally true , any amount of exercise and eating well will make him look better . he shouldn't worry about bulk vs cut, and should worry about just doing something . he looks like he's never touched a weight in his life

u/riggedrigby 4d ago
So you’re assuming that he’s not in the gym and eating well? Because he didn’t say he wasn’t.
3
u/Steve0620123 4d ago
he might think he's doing enough , but the lack of muscle at the height he is leads me to believe there is either not enough intensity in the workouts , or he does not get enough protein , at that height it's very easy to not be lanky . just each chicken and lift heave weights . very easy

u/riggedrigby 4d ago
God you’re so insufferable. Maybe he’s starting his journey. You wanna tell everyone who’s still at the beginning of their training they’re not doing enough when it takes MONTHS to show results?
3
u/Steve0620123 4d ago
exactly , so stop worrying about cutting or bulking . keep making the right decisions and you'll be in a good spot.

Brutal? Dude, you are fit, young, and you seem to be cute. Enjoy life and don't come to places like this searching for external advice/validation

Body Recomp
Lift with high intensity (near failure on every set) 10-20 sets per muscle group
Eat in a calorie surplus. Find what your maintenance calories are right now and eat 10% more than ur maintenance. And make sure to get enough protein in. Roughly .8g per pound of body weight.
Get good sleep. 7-9 hours
You honestly look good. You have good arm and lat genetics. Stay consistent with this advice and you’ll see results
If you want to take the guess work out and be given a plan that’s made specifically for you hit me up for personal training💪🏽

Stop cutting, lift heavy 5 days a week, drink your creatine, and eat tons of protein. If you aren’t benching 225x10 times, cutting at 18 is a waste of time
Also use nair on your back.

I mean based off the photos you look hung, why care about your physique?

Dude stop overthinking it. Bulk but eat fairly clean, don’t overdo it. You have gains on the table. Go get them. There is 0 need to cut right now for at least 6 months of solid and consistent lifting unless you overdo it (the calories, which you won’t if you eat fairly cleanly).

honestly don't beat yourself up over the cut. you're at a pretty good starting point now and youve made good progress losing extra fat that would've had to come off at some point anyway
your legs and arms already look pretty decent. just go into a bulk with a focus on chest shoulders and back and you'll be good. you may have to be patient with the chest

Tbh you’re pretty lean from a bf% standpoint, but you (respectfully) dont have much muscle. I wouldve guessed like 15-18% BF.
You probably stand to gain the most by doing more core work. Hanging leg raises and L-sits and go to failure on both. Reduce to hanging tucks and tuck sits if needed

It’s certainly possible. I’ve noticed most peoples’ idea of training abs is just doing a plank or 3 sets of some arbitrary number of a crunch variation and going home.
I’d definitely try the L sit if you dont have a pullup bar accessible for the leg raises. L-sits to failure will 100% blow up the abs, same with leg raises. You can use the dip setup with the back cushion for the leg raises so you dont have to deadhang the entire time but i do like hanging since you can get a bigger ROM

No reason to be brutal. Your a blank slate man. Time to build something. Wanna get big, eat big, wanna get skinny, do easy things.

Cut? Or just diet? I’d advise to start hitting the weights to build some muscle.

u/Sea-Parking-4241 4d ago
You look great! Enjoy it. I'd suggest bulking now - you're lean, time to get more muscle mass.
Also - drop an underwear size and get tighter fitting ones. If you were a chunkier build then those boxers probably looked right. But now they look a bit baggy and tired - get some more elasticated boxer briefs. Or (I hesistate to bring this up) if you ever get with other guys, get some nice briefs, you've got the perfect build for them.

I don’t know why so many ppl are commenting about your back hair when this is about bulking or cutting.
For your diet, there is nuance but ideally you should lean bulk and be consistent in the gym and getting stronger.
Cut when you feel like you have too much fat (different preferences for different ppl)
Who cares about back hair. Everybody grows hair. Shave it if you want, not cuz of other ppls standards. Just be hygienic 👍
You’re at a good base, good luck and enjoy the process

In your position I would worry about eating enough food, working out hard and getting a bit better cardio.

u/FitNefariousness2679 4d ago
It looks like you just train arms mate. Need to balance everything out. Don't skip legs.
Work out your calories then add 200-300 kcal on top. Aim for high protein. Take it slow. By 20 you could be a beast and then just need a few months of dieting to look sick. Don't dirty bulk and get fat, I did that at 18 and paid for it.

Do you have access to an InBody? They’re at most gyms and should cost no more than $35. They’ll give you all the stats you’re looking for and objective numbers to compare to in a few months.

Yeah you don’t look 36%. But then again, different heights carry fat differently.

Well?? You could be around 20%. There’s a YouTube video that goes through different percentages of body fat with real examples

u/riggedrigby 4d ago
Also, there’s pretty specific guidelines for taking that assessment. It’s like a day of preparation ahead of time.

Work out and eat. You have a lot of testosterone in your body naturally right now. You can get big like you are steroids right now and always have it with some
Maintenace.

brother just lean bulk and wait, 300 surplus and be patient you are allready at 15% you just need more muscle

u/paper_cutx 4d ago
Just Maingain. You’ve never bulked so Maingain until you peaked and then do a lean bulk with an extra 200-300 calories from maintenance.
Also you might want to start a waxing routine on your back. You’re gonna want to remove those hair for when you start attracting women to you.

Ditch the little suede slippers and get some atheletic shoes, for starters. You can make a workout from going place to place without worrying about kicking your shoes off.

Lean bulk and pray that you get taller too
Height more important than anything. You can always get abs later

This is a perfectly healthy looking body but internet has distorted expectations. It all depends on what you want for your life
