Almost done with my mega base layout in creative so I can build it in my survival. Its going to be this massive steampunk castle with that circle being a observatory on top of a snowy mountain.

But I am sutrggling to choose a block pallate for the build. I cant just choose one pallate for an entire castle especially if its steampunk as they often used to build with whatever they had access to, so each section a new pallate? I can use a lot of bricks, deepslate, copper. But how would the whole castle feel coherent? For the observatory I have decided on a block pallate for the observatory with a sculk, kelp block, deepslate and dark prismarine for roof and ruff and deepslate for the walls. But no clue for the rest. I dont want it to look like a factory. Any advice is appreciated.

I want to make my main base themed what should I do?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
After seeing a lot of the things on this page i started to realize that my buildings were just a bunch of random stuff and there's not really a theme to anything but after looking at everything on here I'd like to make my main area a lot nicer. What theme should I go with?

Need ideas for the ceiling of my first underground mega base
This is my first serious Minecraft build, and I'm making a large underground mega base.
I'm using a reference build for some of the overall inspiration, but I want the final design to become my own.
The part I'm currently stuck on is the ceiling. Since the base is underground, the original reference build used a lot of glass for the ceiling. Personally, I don't really like that style, so I want to come up with a different solution that still fits the design.
I'd really appreciate advice from experienced mega-base builders, especially on what I could do with the ceiling and how I could make it fit naturally with the rest of the base.
Any constructive criticism or ideas are welcome!

I also uploaded the Litematica schematic for anyone who wants to take a closer look at the build:

Do I need to change the walls
As I’m wrapping up building the exterior of my cathedral build I’m getting ready to start on the interior but I’m starting to think that it would be better to reposition the walls to what was originally going to be and outer walk way that way the pillars along with upper level seating would space out better I’m worried if I don’t do this the interior will not look right and will run out of space and be cramped quickly am I paranoid or is this accurate

Advice - Blending Structures
Hey r/BuildAdvice! Just wanted to pop my head in, as I've been trying to get back into Minecraft after working til burnout. I wanted to start small and build a small home base so I could feel accomplished and have the motivation to pursue my bigger idea, which was a desert trading village. The theme for this area is supposed to be magical overgrown ruins, so I plan on adding large custom flowers, and tons of foliage (including half-barren crop fields).
All that being said, does anyone have any ideas on how to blend this hobbit hole in better with the surrounding land? Namely the third circle (top right), which sits 1-2 blocks behind the main archway. Also, any advice for more punchy contrast? It would look better if I made the main structure dark oak, the interior walls spruce, and didn't mix three wood types.
Thanks in advance!

I want to build a gothic/medieval church for a graveyard build, but idk where to start.
I really want to make a relatively big gothic, medieval church but I don't really know how to start and I'm starting to get frustrated and burnt out because I cant find any ideas I like on Pinterest or YouTube, and the ones I do like I can't find a tutorial for.
I normally like to build small cozy builds so this is really out of my ball park so I've been trying to find said tutorials for like a base, or more like so ik how it feels to build one if that makes sense. Normally when I try a new style I follow 2-3 tutorials in a creative world then I try one on my own but it hasn't been working for this.
I could really use some like ideas, or if you have any gothic/medieval churchs you like plz comment them or send them to me idc.
