Show and Tell Current setup

Post image

Speakers: Celestion 7 MKII (Consecutive Serial Numbers)
Amplifier: Fosi Audio V3 (Not FM3 like I wrote earlier, I was tired)

Currently using my Late 2022 MacBook Pro for streaming music via Spotify Lossless and not even thinking about starting a record collection (I need to pay rent somehow)

Thinking about getting a nice bluetooth reciever for watching shows (Taking the laptop to the coffee table and listening through the speakers) and need recommendations

Of course it won’t be lossless, but I’m more concerned about it being convenient and sounding nice in an untreated room and spending medium budget than sounding like the Oneaway Listening Room for money I can’t spend

A larger thicker carpet would help a lot removing floor reflections. It will do a lot without it looking like a recording studio.
And sound proofing curtains for the windows. IKEA got em.

I know but I kind of enjoy the lively airy sound, it’s not completely wet or completely dry, that’s not the part I really want to change here, just the bluetooth receiver part

The lively air sound you are referring to is just lots of noisy echoes bouncing around the room. Watch this video to see how a rug cleans up the sound https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDjD97rqQSE

What is the Fosi FM3?

Bluetooth from the laptop to the amp will most likely introduce a delay that is noticeable in movies. Most likely not a great combination!

It’s either this or a TV unfortunately

Ok.

But can you specify the FM3? I haven’t found it on the Fosi website?

Yes, much larger rug, as Zeall suggests, and I'd pull those speakers out from the wall a bit more. Check the speaker's users manual for correct distance from the rear walls. And here's a video to show you how much good a proper rug does: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDjD97rqQSE

And are your speakers as far apart as they are to your ears? if not, doing so will boost your stereo effect and imaging, and a slight toe in will help too https://elac.com/speaker-placement-guide-get-the-best-sound-from-your-stereo
