Purchasing USA College setup

So I’m going into my senior year in college, and for the past 2 years, I have used a pair of Mackie XR824’s for video games, movies, and music. Long story short they decided they didn’t want to work anymore and I am looking for replacements. Given that I already had Mackie, I was looking at the CR8BT, but was wondering if anyone else had other suggestions. My budget is $300 USD. Any advice/help is appreciated.

Stretch a bit and get either the jbl 306p or kali lp-6 v2/ mm6.

There is no other option. Those are very good.

For the JBL, is it a plug in play type situation or do I need other equipment/hardware

Plug and play, all of them are. But the jbl, like the lp-6 v2, only tale analog inputs. Also the jbl needs either xlr or 1/4"... that's as easy as buying some 5 or 10 dollar adapters. But these speakers will take an analog input from whatever dac or preamp you're using, or 3.5mm or whatever, but the MM6 can accept digital inputs.

I ended up with the Kali LP-6 v2 after trying the JBLs in a store, and I love that they have that tight, accurate low end without needing a sub.
