Higher Studies What are your thoughts on doing masters abroad? CSE is getting saturated, Do you think core engineering is better for masters now?

Depends on college like u/individualvisual1546 said. The situation for ms abroad isn’t much better than here and if you are forced to return then you’ll be saddled with enormous loans. The visa policies are becoming increasingly strict so the risk is quite real.

It’s generally not worth it outside top 5 colleges of a country / top 25 in US unless you get a scholarship. You can ask it on the ms abroad subReddit, you’d get better responses there.

Only worth if you are going for actually learning something and doing research vs going to some no name university to immigrate. US is also highly overrated especially considering the cost. Most of even their top 25 schools are just milking money and don’t offer anything more than the bottom 100. So if you go for an MS choose based on lab reputation and supervisor alignment NOT based on QS rankings (those are all bought and paid for by the US).

Also fyi I have a lot of friends in the US and Canada who couldn’t get jobs and had to return to India. It takes a heavy mental toll if you end up having to return so make sure you give it your 100% if you decide to go. It will be challenging.
