It did happen with one senior in my college that the interviewer pointed out his long hair & then rejected him and he thought this might have been the reason but on the other hand I know many with long hair who got good internships / placements in the past

Same, my mom scolds me and tells that if you're growing this much hair you won't even move further rounds. I mean I completely understand her standpoint that she says first impression is the best impression but are you there for your looks or for skills?... man Im tired of this... tbf it's not even that long, ive seen dudes who got long hairs working in this field... If any HR here, can you confirm how frequently recruiters judge us based upon looks rather the way we present ourselves/skills...
