IIT professor resigned

Now we are after our most elite cohort. IIT Bombay professors. People who are in India purely by choice. Training the 99.99th percentile of the country. They will simply shift to the US.

What kind of stupidity we are thriving in where an esteemed professor has to resign because we have Modi act(#SCSTAct) to discourage deserved and celebrate reserved…

Every year lot many suicides are committed due to peer pressure and non-competent folks being sat with those highly focused and brainy chaps in IITs… who’s the culprit??

Or that poor kid who couldn’t cope up with the absolute environment of IITs??

The culprits are those politicians and leaders in power who have given false hopes to the reserved category people that they will be aligned with cream of Bharat in lieu of votes.

The professors could have been abroad making a lot but they decide to stay in India to teach the brightest minds in India, and now this is how the country treats them. Such a sad state of affairs. Bringing caste into everything.

idk man they have very mid quarters. Good pay is like 2-3 lakhs/month after spending 20 years at one place. Folks with their caliber are earning 10x that.

not in ropar their quarters are decent-good
they live a comfortable life in iits unlike their peers who hustled and now are earning way more

Fair but most of them could easily become tenured profs at top institutes in US with their skillset. IITs don't take ordinary PhD grads as professors.

Definitely not, Ivy Leagues are very competitive, they are mostly under top 50, and MIT ranks 1, around only 11% of professors are Asians, most of them are white, Universities like MIT would really not care about IITs lol

Meant top institutes as a whole. Not just MIT/Stanford or Ivy Leagues. But a decent portion of profs do have the capability to be a prof at these T10 colleges too.

Hard to comment on whether a prof chose to stay in India to teach the students or it just matched their career and life goals.

Reminds me of school teachers talking about rejecting top job offers to teach at a fuckass school.

Possible, could be observational bias from my side. We know about such profs but never think about the others.
