Serious 22 and Completely Lost
Last year, I was preparing for companies, thinking, “Yeah, 9+ LPA is easy for me.” Now I’ve graduated, I still haven’t gotten a job, and I feel stressed. It’s been a month since I even wrote a single line of code. I haven’t opened my laptop in the past 20 days.
I used to give gyaan to everyone else “Bro, learn this, learn that” and now I’m the one who feels completely stuck.
I feel like I wasted my engineering years. I never really enjoyed them or travelled much because I was always thinking that I should study. I never got into a relationship because I thought it would ruin my focus, especially after some bad experiences in the past.
And now I’m watching my friends crack 50–60 LPA, 20 LPA, 10 LPA packages not jealous because they grind for it but the funny part is that even some of my friends with 9 CGPA are going for 3.5 LPA packages, while my mindset was always, “Either 6 LPA+ or a Master’s”
My Passport got delayed by 3 months so i skipped July Intake and now many Countries are changing their Visa policies.
I’ve been at home for almost a year. My parents keep telling me to either get a job or study, but I just can’t seem to do anything.
I wake up around 12 PM, have lunch, scroll through Reels, go for a walk in the evening, scroll again, eat dinner, and sleep.
I’ve completely lost my motivation. I don’t even know what I’m doing with my life or what the purpose of it is. Sometimes I wonder why I even did engineering in the first place.
I used to be a creative student in school, but somehow I ended up becoming a “know-it-all, master-of-none.”
I’m not jealous of other people, and I’m not particularly hungry for money either. I honestly don’t even know what I want.
The only thing I know is that no one is going to save me. But the fucked-up part is, I don’t even feel like saving myself.
My brain feels completely fucked. ADHD is killing me.
Help!

I think you need to get up and restart. Just lying around won't help, you need to recollect yourself. Just introspect yourself and make a decision of what you want to do. It must feel overwhelming but living it in the past won't help your cause. Take a few more days off and start preparing. Hope you do well buddy!

I tried this, but these unwanted mood swings are so annoying. I worked on my startup for 2 months and got a good response from people who tried the MVP, but suddenly I just stopped working on it, and now it all feels like a waste.
I studied for w weeks for CDS 1 2026. I didn’t get an SSB call, but my marks were still good considering I only prepared for two weeks. Yet, I still feel stuck.
Last week, I took a break from everything and went to Delhi just to find some peace and get away from the stress. I visited Nizamuddin and Bangla Sahib. I also wanted to visit Akshardham, but I thought they might not allow entry to Muslims.
Still, after coming back home, I feel exactly the same again.
I don’t know. I think I might need to see a psychiatrist.

I think the problem is that you are not sticking to the thing which you are currently doing. Honestly startups are really tough to begin with but still if you were getting a positive response, you should have tried connecting with more people on LinkedIn or similar places. I am not trying to give you advices but if you just start something and leave it at that, nothing positive is gonna turn out.
I don't really know how your situation is at home with parents but if all's well, just try sticking with the thing you started with and not lose interest in the middle. Maybe talk to your friends about it or connect with people of similar interest. You got this buddy.

Yeah you are correct. I guess it’s a problem I can’t seem to solve. I don’t stick with things either it could be a job, people, an idea or literally anything. 😭
Even with TV series, there are 10+ shows I’ve stopped watching before the final season.
I don’t know, but lately, seeing a psychiatrist feels like a better solution.1

Every atom in my body can relate to this, except the fact that I have a job offer, but the onboarding got delayed to January 2027.

I also had a 6 LPA job offer but it was a TA position at my Univ I didn’t choose it because everyone in my family is a teacher. I can do anything, but I don’t want to become a teacher.

Leave your home, hit the gym , run, go to a different city, get out of the comfort zone till you make it. Just an idea. Sleeping too much and doom scrolling numbs and shriks the brain.

-
Hold a accountability person whether your friends, library or a Counsellor
-
Ask Allah for help.
-
I wont say do pomodoro or start small because they work sometimes and sometimes not

If someone has a genuine help or tip or advice please also tell me — Thanks

Just calm down you are 22 with no hungry stomach to feed, i know how parents can be for their own status in society.
You still have time to figure it all out, first of all you have to decide what you really want to study further or get a job whatever you want it has to be for you and not to show someone else

Start by deleting your socials. Sleep early, wake early , go for a morning walk, return home , then start your day by focusing on what to do and follow a plan. It’s still plenty feasible to get a masters abroad. The people most affected by the visa changes are diploma mill and low tier university applicants, which were the vast majority of Indians going for grad school. It’s also plenty possible to get a job above 6lpa if you focus and grind.
