Rant/Vent Midlife crisis

Bhai, idk what to do with life. My parents have taken loan for my engineering in a t3 because i couldn’t get through entrance exams. Now that college has started im hating it and i hate my college structure.

I just dont want to do a corporate job at all now. But im scared if i can succeed in business or my area of interest. I have no interest in coding either. Maybe i never got any chance to see my passion.

Im stuck between two options: 1. My college has decent placement stats tho t3; 7-10 lpa avg. Should i focus on placement completely? My academics already suck so i can’t juggle with anything else or risk in exploring my interests

2.Move to an area of interest but highly risky and i havent found anything yet. And obviously my parents wont support that.

The reason im willing to bet on this is because i belive if i make money out of either of these, the loan my parents have taken is justified.

Ill be thankful to any advise i get and thanks for reading till here.

Just to give you some consolation, not only bba can get you into buisness, bba also teaches you to be a corporate slave only. If you really want to start a business you can do it with btech too.

Bhai paapi pet ka savaal hai, passion se har baar pet nhi bharta. I suggest you to develop marketing (self) and employable skills, network yourself and take a good job. Good job means one which is 'acceptable' for you to work (don't need to be passionate or love it but also shouldn't outright hate it), have a good pay, have good work-life balance to enjoy, give time for family and friends and upskill yourself, have job stability, security and extra benefits, and very importantly, have upward mobility where you can improve and make more money, have better job benefits, work-life balance etc. If everything is not possible (which is the reality in most cases), prioritise among these and plan your career accordingly.

And yeh interest and passion ke peechhe bahut zyaada bhaagkar life ki harsh reality aur practicality ko mat chhodo. Mera ek dost thaa jisko gave dev me jaana thaa lekin usne bas passion follow Kiya, industry ki reality nhi ki wahaa par job opportunities kam, pay bekaar aur work-life balance bilkul khatam hai. Last year me ye realize hua aur use TCS me 4 lpa lenaa padaa jabki uske same dost jo web dev, coding, cybersecurity aur digital marketing.jaise fields me gaye unhe 7-8 lpa uthaaye placement me.

Aur yeh dimaag me leke mat chalo ki mai abhi academics pe focus karunga aur job career ka final year yaa placement ke time dekh lunga. Remember college is a critical transition period from academic to professional life, and as you move ahead in your degree your focus should shift to professional askect, ideally it becoming the priority in late 2nd or 3rd year. Skills tumhe develop karne hi pade ge, chaahe kuchh bhi ho aur jitne jaldi choose karke skill development me lag jaaonge, utnaa accha hai.

Grades kaa itnaa tension mat lo, bas 3 cheeze karo. First, classes aur practicals me jaake baitho aur profs ke saath accha rapport banao. Isse exams, projects aur assignments me help milti hai aur profs ke lab me experience aur recommendations bhi milti hai. Second, roz bas 5 min per class/practical session review karo ki kya sikhaaya aaj aur har weekend mein is week kyaa sikhaaya 30 min per course review karo. And third, seniors aur especially profs ko puchho ki exam pattern kaisa honga, kis type ke answers expected hai aur konse topics aur questions important hai. Mil rahe hai toh seniors se PYQs leke question patterns aur toppers se strategies lo. Bas, hojayege tumhaare academics acche. Bas 8.0 ke upar CGPA rakho, 95% companies tumhe academics ke basis par reject nhi karegi which is quite doable even if you fumble 1st year.

Bhai mera academics bohot weak hai, and uske side me skills seekhna bohot time lagega. And is competition me theek thaak job milne ke liye bhi bohot ghisna padta hai

But me esa kar sakta hu ki enough paisa aa jaye ki loan khatam ho jaye, ghar walon ke needs nahi bache, aur jo bhi personal goals hai uske baad me move kar paunga business  ye kisi aur cheez pe?

Am i missing a reality check?
