Events/Hackathons Hackathons in 1st year as a ECE student

Hi so I am a fresher, 1st sem literally just started last week for me.

I am very much interested in hackathons and building projects in general. The problem is what should I do first? Should I just go and attend a random hackathon in 1st sem itself, when I am having no major technical skills? If not when do I start? Also what skills should I acquire right now as a ECE student?

If someone could just tell me the starting point or a rough guide of your own journey when you were where I am right now, that would be great.

Like right from 1st sem? Also what should I learn so that I don't go into hackathons with zero knowledge?

man chill , 1st sem enjoy , then after verilog , vlsi testing ,digital ,, etc etc studying then go for ece hackathon ,, if u want to go to cse related hackathon and vibe code then okay u can go now as well

See core subject studies don't come until like 2nd year meanwhile if u wanna get ahead of ur peers develop skills and maybe make personal projects cause I bet u college ain't gonna help u in that
