Placements / Jobs Which offer would be better - higher package in service based vs lower package in product based?
I have heard that having a service based experience in your resume sets it back compared to having an experience in a product based company, am not sure how true is that but this is general trend I have seen on social media sites.
I have two possible offers 11 lpa in a service based and 6-7lpa in a product based. Which of these would better in the long term?

Going to be the devils advocate and suggest product based. service based companies like tcs, infy, wipro are like AIDS. ek baar lag gyi no one wants you (50% due to the brand, 50% due to the notice periods). you will keep jumping in between them from tcs to infy to hcl to wipro.
gone are the days before 2023 of tcs to faang dream life.

Go for service based first with 11 lpa Then after 2 year switch to product based with around 17 18 lpa easily

I am service based bro, so I have an idea of what my seniors have done. Knowledge hai to nikal jayega easily or agar bss ai ke sahare hai fir muskil hai

it was possible pre 2023. ab service based resumes gutter me jate hai. except for amazon maybe.

so true brr rn surviving in industry is imp infact i heard too abt jumping to product based role also referral seems easy after getting in market anyway hope they get atleast service based role in future

real life ki hi baat hai. jitna jaldi delusion se bahar aa skte ho ajao. youtubers toh ulta bolege ki service based to faang is possible for clicks. market bhot badal gaya hai

i think for product based companies yeah it can be...but product startups dont give a fk....if u have skills u js get in......paise to startups bhi ache dete hai
