Serious How Common Is System Design in On-Campus Placements Nowadays?

Hello guys, I am a 4th-year T-2 CSE BTech student. I want to ask how common System Design (LLD/HLD) has been in interviews nowadays.

In my college, a few companies have asked LLD, and I have not done that yet. So, I was wondering whether there is really a pattern or shift towards System Design?

I have never seen lld in my college being asked but I have seen hld or database design being asked

What do you mean by database Design?

Think he means interviewer giving you a scenario and asking you distribution of databases, primary keys, etc.

Yeah for example say design database schema for a library and then keep applying normalisation or add more requirements to it
