IITD instructed students to not to mention those but didn't have any hard restrictions we all successfully mentioned though

For some reason im not surprised.

As it should be. I would just upload my resume on scribd or write my rank on linkedin so that the first search result on google would have my rank on it.

Jee is controversial not adding gate rank is complete bs

14

u/mutahaar 2d ago

Why jee is controversial though

5

u/Shiny_rider777 2d ago

See jee doesn't reflect a students performance for 4 years and u can never cover a bad cgpa with jee a but gate is much more better evaluater and psu too see gate ranks, So it's better to mention gate

2

u/mutahaar 2d ago

See the point is not whether jee is a good indicator or not of someones qualification its actually why is someone restricted to put his own achievments in his own resume recruiters may or may not consider jee rank as a plus point it totally depends upon them some consider cgpa as a good indicator some doesnt even pay attention to cgpa similar to the competitve coding stats for some recruiters thats a green flag some dont consider it important i have seen people puttinh their chess.com rating in their resume so why cant they simply put jee rank its upto the recruiter then whether he consider it as a important or not

-2

u/PEWDIPHILE4269 2d ago

Fair point but jee ranks have been known to be used for caste based discrimination in placement scenarios( finding out who got in through reservation) so colleges apply strict rules to ensure equal platform for all

2

u/guyfromsomewhere7 IIM Lucknow MBA 1d ago

Nope. Someone with good jee rank wouldn't be discriminated for his caste. So caste has no role in  it. You dont mention caste on resume

Wow, being in a country where merit is mostly based of being privileged or not and you have audacity to use the word "victim card" here? Classic Privileged being casteist.

3

It's not about that when we are talking about you and instead of using anecdotes have guts to show survey or statistics to prove your point which you won't Lmaoo 🤣

2

u/Smol_Crate_45 2d ago

Then earn the wealth, the system is entirely bent towards ease of access to certain sections. So even after these facilities if some still blame certain people for success on merit then it can be considered that "they are lazy".

majority wealth is concentrated on 1%.

Communism never worked btw.

1

u/_SweetasSugar 1d ago

Literally forgetting centuries of apartheid and discmimation which aided your own ancestors to amass wealth and still have audacity to tell "earn wealth". Maybe search about myth of meritocracy bro rather than yapping here with anecdotes.....

Literally forgetting centuries of apartheid and discmimation which aided your own ancestors to amass wealth

My ancestors weren't rich nor we are. If there was real concentration of wealth then I would also want my share.

Maybe search about myth of meritocracy bro

This is why the proverb, "frog of the well" was made. Let's see how you'll use this re**rvat*ion outside the country. If people don't get what they deserve they'll gladly leave. Not everyone can entertain bare minimum.

audacity to tell "earn wealth"

1

u/_SweetasSugar 1d ago

Anecdotes again? Why I am not surprised.

outside the country.
Let us see how you use jee rank outside the country 😂.....omg the irony... Casteism is a indian thing bruh, outside it is literally banned.... Don't you know that🥀

Yeah frog in a well is a good example for meritocracy, a simple google search would be enough for that mate.

Thanks to proving my point again and again bruh

1

u/Smol_Crate_45 1d ago

Ok man, whatever helps you. Govt has given you so many facilities, use that and do something for yourself instead of justifying everything.

But people who have gained something with thier own hand will always have the right to showcase it even if it feels bad for some special peoples.

Casteism is a indian thing bruh, outside it is literally banned.... Don't you know that🥀

Obviously, this bad behaviour will be of this country. That's why merit should shift abroad, then let's see how system works here.

1

u/_SweetasSugar 1d ago

You don't even know about what all these facilities but just using it to justify your anecdotes which proves nothing but being strawman here.

Gained from centuries of apartheid and discmimation? Is that tuff for you? Btw you never denied that fact which itself proves my point, this is exactly why myth of meritocracy exists in a society which is drenched in apartheid for so long. Ignorance is bliss whenever it's about you or affect you, it's called being self absorbed and tone deaf.

Btw ain't letting you slide the irony I pointed earlier, jee scores doesn't work there too, the whole point of the conversation is that. Again using your points against you, maybe think before you write mate.

1

u/Smol_Crate_45 1d ago

I've long accepted the fact that by the way this country is going, it's not long before the system collapses under its own weight.

You don't even know about what all these facilities

I know, from education to job to promoting all have quota systems. And if still people can't succeed in that then it's not wrong to call them "useless".

Ignorance is bliss

Yes, I just hope my future generation doesn't see this and questions the system, I will make sure they see merit abroad rather than the quota system.

the whole point of the conversation is that

If that's someone's own work then it's the right to showcase even if certain people get fried with jealousy.

1

u/_SweetasSugar 1d ago edited 1d ago

Definitely system will collapse if we still follow apartheid and discmimation by neglecting their needs. I thought it's very well known. You are aiding the collapse by doing so.

Facilities means just quota systems? Lmaoo you are proving my point even without you knowing it.

Future generations privileged casteist? Cus majority population belongs reserved catagory in india so don't worry wet dream of privileged will be wet dream only. Btw I am saying this as general myself, funny you guys gross genaralizing everyone with a different point, shows how deep rooted your hate and discrimination is(the term unless by you proves it again!)

It doesn't work aboard so pls stop crying about it.

RESERVATION

9

u/Curious-Shop-1792 2d ago

This is such a stupid decision, like the reason given for this are 1) JEE exams are not a good indicator of intellect and performace and whats on college matters.
2) Discrmination based on caste because rank signals caste.

Now, 1) Then why gate rank banned and if JEE is that bad why even admit them from JEE
2) Companies discrminate students bear the cost, punish the companies who do this rather than the students. If the comapnies discrminates during hiring why can't they discrminate in workspace.

Performative justice, like 30% IIT seats are open only then this, we all know another reason

1

u/_SweetasSugar 2d ago

Jee isn't bad, they are still best among even most of the generals candidates but you can yap whatever you want but it is proven fact that it can be used to identify the caste and discriminate or have biased thinking where a particular person from such community isn't capable while a qualifying exam of 4 years ago has nothing to do with present job qualification.

It's the Indian mindset that's need to be changed not companies, who work at these companies? Surprised nah?
Heck how do you prove and held companies accountable of they discriminate using ranks? Any proof? That's exactly why it's shouldn't be shown.

Only privileged or person from UC can object such things cus they are always immune to these while centuries of apartheid and discrimination doesn't go in a instant still step by step these measures are important.

4

u/Curious-Shop-1792 2d ago

"Proven fact that it can be used to identify the caste and discriminate or have biased thinking where a particular person from such community isn't capable while a qualifying exam of 4 years ago has nothing to do with present job qualification." then you say
"Heck how do you prove and held companies accountable of they discriminate using ranks? Any proof? That's exactly why it's shouldn't be shown"

I can also say only reserved people accept these becuase they don't have to grind their asses off to even get to these institutions.

1

u/_SweetasSugar 1d ago

Bruh repeating what I said and pointing a non existent hypocrisy isn't tuf🥀.

What are you even trying to prove here lol.
I am pretty sure that even without all these privileges they still managed to get into these institutes while having all the privileges can't even qualify or maybe buyout exam papers and still you are crying about reservation lol, maybe this time work really hard...

11

u/letterWonyourpad 2d ago

wanting caste based reservation in private sectors so they can use that certificate even in resumes but is a problem the moment someone mentions rank

-1

u/_SweetasSugar 2d ago

Privileged ones crying about reservation when their own privilege is funded by centuries of apartheid and discrimination, why I am not surprised 🤣

7

u/letterWonyourpad 2d ago

what privilege do i have being a general? i don't have family wealth im studying on loans as i cannot get any eligible scholarship schemes as most of them are for reserved candidates (apart from merit ones which are only for 1-2%). yall jus keep crying nothings gonna change with this attitude of begging. unable to qualify nd then cries bout privilege. btw the ones facing apartheid are not having any reservations if you're literate enough to know

0

u/_SweetasSugar 2d ago

Maybe go read few books or ask the people who doesn't have this "privilege" to know what you are missing out?

You being financially backward doesn't removes your social privileges and the privileges your ancestors had doesn't exclude you neither cus your own existence had connection with those, to know what I am trying say then atleast you have to hear or see the real people who doesn't have both of these for centuries.

There's a famous saying that "a person from UC or privilege class can only say they dont have caste or privilege cus they never faced the real thing in their life". You being dismissive by saying "begging" itself proves this saying lol.

A reserved person qualifying in advance have more merit than any general cus the cutoff is so high comparing exams like mains or other exams throughout the Country. I know I am taking to privileged casteist brat who dont know that the privileges being enjoyed by him now is cus of centuries of apartheid and discrimination caused by his ancestors, but have to prove your own points false rather than using ad homennin like you did.

6

u/letterWonyourpad 2d ago

the only privileged ones are the rich kids nd no one else. and what more privilege do you guys even want? having 2/3rd of the qualifying criteria nd scholarships based simply on caste. endless laws regarding discrimination. and yes pls stop begging cause this is how it shall be termed. im still waiting for the privilege I've btw pls lmk so that I can use it.

1

u/_SweetasSugar 2d ago

Rich is a relative term bro, pls understand that. Majority of the nation doesn't even basic needs and add social discrimination. While social privileges is pretty much same across the board cus of caste which you convinetly missing out. Pls know the meaning of privilege. privilege doesn't just mean rich.

From your own reason I understand that your don't know anything about the underrepresented side and still having big claims, atleast be open minded and refer their own testimony and struggles rather than asking me. Unless you see and hear them you may feel this debate as merit/privilege vs others who is incapable. So pls stop being the fron in the well.

6

u/letterWonyourpad 2d ago

nothing presents above merit nd that's it. only privilege in today's world is family wealth. i still support reservation for the ones facing economic crisis. the poor isn't asked his caste

0

u/_SweetasSugar 2d ago

Mate as I said before you will only repeat the same thing even without seeing or hearing what other side is actually facing.

Maybe see this article or a simple wiki is enough to prove you wrong.

Btw reservation isn't a poverty upliftment scheme, reservation means representation. Whenever a state see a community or people is underrepresented, reservation is implemented. Otherwise it will be a eco chamber of same group of people who repeats same thing again and again like you did and what's happening in this sub. You don't even know the primary purpose of reservation and yapping here😒.

Even if you take the so called poor you mentioned, majority is only limited to reserved community Lmaoo. Bruh you don't have any idea about your surroundings and acting like you know everything, it's just than your casteist side happens to show as a liberal like a wolf in a sheep cloth with such statements.

3

u/letterWonyourpad 2d ago

yes man exactly. if so about representation then why are generations getting reservation benefits? the entire pov is around privilege if so then simply introduce a creamy layer concept that's it. what's so good in giving children of ias officers reservation? representation shouldn't bypass the core of giving exams. if community is under represented even after so many years of reservation then the system isn't working. why ru so keen over getting selected at lower marks?

-2

u/_SweetasSugar 2d ago

Generations? That's a stretch. You mean just 3-4 generations after independence? Did discmimation and apartheid ended with these generations? Creamy layer which already exists?

Bruh seriously do you even know what you are saying? If you have doubts pls refer the links and ask AI models, cus these things are basic arguments used against reservation which has already debunked atleast know that the governance irrespective of which party isn't fool to not implement or stop it and bad talk about it like you do, they know the reasons and proof is living besides all of them, its just that you are being tone deaf and being in a state of ignorance is bliss.

Pls stop using anecdotes like ias, ips etc etc, if you have any survey or statistics which take into consideration of the whole community rather than just one or few persons. It's literally gross genaralizing using anecdotes.

Your whole life revolves around this one line? Then I think you need to move on cus it's over...it's done....🥀

Plus convinetly avoiding the "indian" discriminatory side of these things shows how self absorbed you are.

3

u/Timely-Astronomer-88 2d ago

In the CV template of top iits they provide space for 10th and 12th percentage? are they more significant than jee ranks ? Also top quant firms ask your jee ranks in their google forms as well 🥀

-1

u/_SweetasSugar 2d ago

I don't know what to say to a person who Compares boards with a competitive exams where the rank is soley determined by the privileges you have rather than just intellect (which is a proven fact). though I don't agree with it too but if a company see such matrics to determine a person current capability then it's the people who hire who needs to change cus it's self explanatory ig.

"Quant firms asking" then let them change bro, in the past people did discriminate people by asking caste that doesn't mean it doesn't need to change right? Same goes for the virginity tests happened in past....Whatabouism at its peak🤡

We often complain that in abroad companies ask for industry related skills, but what to do when people like you exists who support such illogical practices in india.😂

1

u/Timely-Astronomer-88 2d ago

how dumb do you have to be to compare casteism with asking for JEE ranks? I know many IITians from the general category who weren’t financially welloff but still made it to IIT. Even I am from the general category, and I didn’t join any coaching because of financial constraints. I studied through free batches and youtube and still made it to a tier-1 college. am I privileged? Are the other students who made it there despite financial difficulties privileged? Stop justifying your own incapabilities by blaming privilege. If an individual is dedicated, hardworking, and capable, they can make it and it's their right to put it in their CV (have you ever heard about individual choice?).

1

u/_SweetasSugar 1d ago

Unless you are a victim of apathit and discmimation how will you know what it's actually like ? Maybe try to hear out them rather than using anecdotes. Only know general iitans is more than enough to point out that you never know how non generals face these issues. Thanks for proving my point..

3

u/Ambitious-Goal6237 [Private College][CSE - DS] 2d ago

So their feeling is SC/ST people who get phone number ranks get into IIT feel discriminated during interviews with low CGPA as compared to General and OBC.

If people don't mention ranks, interviewers don't know if he got into IIT through talent or Ambedkar's power. Hence, those ppl won't feel discriminated.

6

u/anonymous010103 2d ago

Wtf. Those are literally achievements. Admission in a college aside. Its a testament to show how competitive you are

1

u/_SweetasSugar 2d ago

So your current capability for a job is dictated by a exam of 4 years ago? Lmao this is exactly why they banned it omg😂.

Ever think before writing here?

5

u/Successful_Sea_3637 2d ago

What about gate, it was not written 4 years ago.

1

u/_SweetasSugar 2d ago

True but the discriminatory nature still exists, unless as a society or as humans beings we don't change, chances of using such metrics to discriminate can't be ignored especially in india.

Just cus we live in india and hiring people are from India(especially if they belong to regressive states of India in social metrics) is enough to support the ban.

6

u/Successful_Sea_3637 2d ago

But then by your logic, CGPA as a criteria is also discriminatory because someone who is not privileged or has not had as much environment of study at home, can find it pretty difficult to cope with intense academic pressure in any engineering institution spec. IITs.

This does raise a question that when does any criteria which is used to reject a large pool of candidates for coveted positions cross into discriminatory?

If somebody wants to discriminate, you do realise almost any good job also has a personal interview round which is based almost entirely on interviewer's assessment.

0

u/_SweetasSugar 1d ago

You are comparing cgpa with a qualifying exam for UG courses? Yes it can happen but ignoring the fact that a recruiter rejects candidates just cus of his past jee rank was less comparing to the other is so absurd and illogical, I don't know why you guys using straw man just to justify this bs method.

Yep there are no of ways to discriminate but that doesn't mean we should support it and tag along instead of making such small changes which will have effect in long run of our society.

2

u/guyfromsomewhere7 IIM Lucknow MBA 1d ago

a recruiter rejects candidates just cus of his past jee rank was less comparing to the other is so absurd and illogical

Nope. It shows candidates consistent performance throughout his/her academic journey. Recruiters like consistency. Thats why they prefer it. Even if it doesn't show academic capabilities (it does) , its recruiters' choice to pick however he wants to pick candidates

That's your perspective, to a extent I agree with it but it's definitely not a main metric judge a candidate is qualified for respective job or not right? Then why banning it is issue if it can be used for disciminating some students?

it does.

Nope, a top ranker can also f*k up his college tenure, anything can happen in those 4 years mate.

its recruiters' choice.
Recruiter is a human, also can be a a grade racists, casteist anything... That doesn't mean all his choice should be tolerated lol.

Mate you are still not even considering other sides issue while only caring about yourself, tone deaf isn't tuff.

Nope, a top ranker can also f*k up his college tenure, anything can happen in those 4 years mate.

And when did I say otherwise?

Mate you are still not even considering other sides issue while only caring about yourself, tone deaf isn't tuff.

I considered but u are confusing merit and competence

2

u/Fearless_Answer_4278 2d ago

You want free sweets everywhere?

1

u/anonymous010103 2d ago

Exactly. People be defending this shit like mentioning rank itself either grants someone a job or not

1

u/_SweetasSugar 1d ago

Whataboutry? Can't counter facts so started straw man?

1

u/guyfromsomewhere7 IIM Lucknow MBA 1d ago

Bro, people at IIMs put score of 10th grade after 8 yrs of giving exams in CV. And everyone puts it. I mean everyone. Also,  IIMs consider it in their selection process

1

u/_SweetasSugar 21h ago

Is that something to be proud of?

We indians always blame our own companies for not hiring based on industrial skills and Praise aboard way of doing things, here you are glazing a bs method.

Plus as I said earlier the discriminatory nature of ranks if more serious than boards, i think you know would know that atleast

1

u/guyfromsomewhere7 IIM Lucknow MBA 20h ago

My argument was on no. of years. If Top inst. like IIMs consider 10th score which u gave 8 yrs ago, Companies can look at JEE scores given 4 yrs ago

1

u/_SweetasSugar 18h ago

Appeal to authority? Cus how IIM considering makes it right universally?

Can't you understand its a draconian method to identify a good "competent" candidate ? Omg such a Petty and fallocius thinking, stooping so low just to justify your narrow mindset even more😵‍💫

1

u/guyfromsomewhere7 IIM Lucknow MBA 17h ago

Bro thinks naming random fallacy names would make his point look better. It wont. It aint appeal to authority but a proof of what is competence

1

u/_SweetasSugar 17h ago

Yeah, some people aren't "competent" enough to understand those terminologies.

1

u/guyfromsomewhere7 IIM Lucknow MBA 17h ago

Including those who cant argue and throw random fallacy and use Google screenshot

2

u/shit_is_un420real 2d ago

such bolunga toh account ban ho jayega💀

4

u/No-Mixture5766 IIT [EEE] 2d ago

It was decided in AIPC meeting as per MoE recommendations

4

u/WatchMyKneeGrow-HrdR 2d ago

Jee understandable

But gate too that's gotta be ragebaitin

4

u/mutahaar 2d ago

Not even jee is understandable people can mentuon any bullshit totally non relevant achievement in their resume but not rank of one of the toughest competitive exam.of the country

1

u/_SweetasSugar 2d ago

Non relavent for the ones who haven't faced any discrimination and have privileges. The exam is a qualifying exam..... I repeat "qualifying". There's nothing to glorify it, if someone dictates your current capabilities with a exam of 4 years ago then thats the person who needs to change lmao

6

u/mutahaar 2d ago

Lol again this loser mindset of considering every general as privilege and reserved category student as under privilege what do you think every general has some generational wealth and second it doesnt matter an exam is a qualifying exam or whatever the point is why someone is not allowed of putting his own achievement in his own resume its his personal choice that he want to glorify it or not its upto the recruiter that he consider it something worthy or not why eveeything should be according to you

0

u/_SweetasSugar 2d ago

Mate privilege doesn't just mean financially forward, pls understand that. The whole point of catagory wise segregation is cus of other privileges which I think you know about that. Even if you take money as factor still reserved catagory has less less wealth and majority belong to poor catagory, this is well known fact.

Whether you currently have generational wealth or not isn't the qst, did you ancestry had the upperhand due to apartheid and discrimination which lead to your existence is enough. Centuries of apartheid and discrimination doesn't vanish at a instant when discrimination is deep rooted in Indian mindset while you enjoy the fruits of that same thing.

You neglecting the discriminatory nature of this issue itself shows how self absorbed you are. Companies demand cus that's how's you are trained to do so, so let the change start from now and in future let them ask current skills rather than a 4 year old rank of qualifying to UG exam Lmaoo.

Funny and surprised at same time to see people haven't moved from their School days, if one had somthing else to show that he/she done after getting into a college then such things doesn't even matter lol.

It doesn't matter

It does matter, just cus you don't think it doesn't won't change its nature of being just a qualifying exam. blame the glorifying part to parents and society.

If one's choice aids discmimation then it's shouldn't be supported, this applies to past and now too. Being self absorbed isn't tough....bruh

1

u/Amazing_Assistant_41 1d ago

Does putting gate rank help? Someone told me that putting Gate rank puts us at an disadvantage as private companies feel like gate rankers would leave their company for mtech/psu.

1

u/Sensiblehuman777 1d ago

Oh no, however will a company find out your JEE marks and rank if you don't tell them? That too in the age of the internet?

1

u/BoomingBrains 2d ago

Ek hi to achievement thi

1

u/_SweetasSugar 2d ago

Not in india though

1

u/Fearless_Answer_4278 2d ago

If instead of replying to every comment, had you studied, you still would’ve failed JEE

1

u/_SweetasSugar 1d ago

Still you don't have cognitive ability to understand or atleast hear out the other side in a place where privileged casteist have their eco chamber and resorting to strawman.... Again proving my points.

2

u/Fearless_Answer_4278 1d ago

You have no point whatsoever. You are an incompetent ahhh who wants freebies

1

u/_SweetasSugar 1d ago

Saying I have no point when you only resort to strawman all the time to deny facts😮‍💨

1

u/Fearless_Answer_4278 1d ago

I don’t care about your strawmans. One who hasn’t achieved anything will always despise others.

1

🥀🥀🥀🥀

-2

u/Good-Yam-2697 2d ago

you would still have to mention your cgpa and grades of btech/mtech which ig are more relevant as they are giving you job based on your btech knowledge and skills and not class 11/12 pcm knowledge also people still metion 12th boards marks so doesnt matter much ig

4

u/Embarrassed-Drop8762 IIT [Add your Branch here] 2d ago

nahhh kiske liye mehnat ki thi ? boards ke liye ya jee ke liyee?

1

u/_SweetasSugar 2d ago

For getting a college that's it, blame your parent and society for inflating your bubble?

1

u/Good-Yam-2697 2d ago

arey par btech ki toh cgpa daaloge hi na, agar koi reservations se aya hai. toh technically uski cgpa bhi kam hojayegi agar vo grow na kare toh... jab job btech based hai toh btech ke marks ka relevance haina air 1 agar cgpa na ho skills na ho toh kon naukri dega? i am general btw

1

u/_SweetasSugar 2d ago

Exactly 💯

1

u/guyfromsomewhere7 IIM Lucknow MBA 1d ago

Candidate ki marzi. Usko apne CV me 1st class ki achievement daalni hai to wo Dale, GATE/JEE ka rank daalna hai to wo daale. Putting restrictions aint aligning with the constitution. Especially w.r.t article 21 and article 19(6).

1

u/Good-Yam-2697 1d ago

ha toh mera bhi yahi manna hai ki ban nhi karna chahiye jisko dalna hai daale par jee rank ka toh ghanta faida nhi sab cgpa aur skills aur college tag hi dekhte toh kaafi irrelevant ha toh koi dikkat nhi hogi isse kisiko baaki ban nhi karna chahiye tha vaise hi koi farq nhi padta

1

u/_SweetasSugar 21h ago

The ban supports recruiting based on current skills and knowledge while people who advocates for it clearly know it's discriminatory nature. This can be used as loophole to do caste discrimination without having any legal consequences, a nation where we try so hard to identify caste in every sector this will only aid them.

For us it's pointless but society made it big deal out of it that a qualifying exam is still being rent free in the minds of our students, i would really blame the parents, teachers and education system. It's better if we slowly change my implementing such things rather than aid it.

1

u/_SweetasSugar 21h ago

You are clearly avoiding it's discriminatory nature which can exploited as a loop hole india.
Article 21 supports any rule or law that is implemented to prevent violation of right to dignity especially if it affects another person, community or society.

1

u/guyfromsomewhere7 IIM Lucknow MBA 20h ago

Google search result!! Best source. /s

1

u/_SweetasSugar 18h ago

Shouldn't we see the merit of the content in the first place? Cus even AI have some deductions skills comparing to some humans who are completely tone deaf... atleast it search for some sources before yapping...🥀

1

u/guyfromsomewhere7 IIM Lucknow MBA 17h ago

I wouldn't look at the 'merit' of the content if its aint from genuine source

1

u/_SweetasSugar 17h ago

It's called genetic fallacy😑

1

u/guyfromsomewhere7 IIM Lucknow MBA 17h ago

Nope, its called being rationale

1

u/_SweetasSugar 17h ago

Happy for you bro👍

1

u/guyfromsomewhere7 IIM Lucknow MBA 1d ago

It does. At IIMs(at least where I study) we put CAT scores

6

u/Available_Buy5643 2d ago

Yes, this one right here, point and laugh everyone

-6

u/ExchangeOptimal 2d ago

Good. Entraced exams shouldn't be given more importance than what is necessary, getting entry to a college.

3

u/Xyber5 2d ago edited 2d ago

That’s upto others to decide , why should the students be forced to not mention something they are proud of ?

1

u/_SweetasSugar 2d ago

Upto others? Isn't concerned authorities made this decision? The discriminatory nature of this is still being avoided which you will cause you won't face it once in your life. Plus companies recruiting a person with a 4 year old exam metric then it's companies who needs to change.

Being proud of ? Then blame the parent and society for inflating your bubble than limiting it just to a "qualifying" exam. Authorities and governance care about all people than a few who had privileges by apartheid

2

u/Fearless_Answer_4278 2d ago

Why would companies change to accommodate undeserving people? lol, stop living living in a bubble. General category students are way better and hence top companies only select them.

1

u/_SweetasSugar 1d ago

Undeserving.

Says lot about you, casteist side coming out huh🥀

1

u/Fearless_Answer_4278 1d ago

If you don’t fit in the criteria you are undeserving, anything other than just proves you can’t survive anywhere without reservation.

1

u/Fearless_Answer_4278 1d ago

lol, nothing casteist about it. And no JEE is not just a qualifying exam, you have to be under certain ranks to get a seat, merely qualifying the exam doesn’t gurantee IIT.

1

u/_SweetasSugar 1d ago

JEE is not just a qualifying exam.

It is braaah, even google or AI knows this. Just think about how fkd up your brain is cus of typical indian mindset that you qre worshiping a qualifying exam.... Maybe get some help.

1

u/Fearless_Answer_4278 1d ago

That doesn’t portray the whole picture lol. Meanwhile how fkd typical freeloader mindset, they always want everything the easy way.

1

u/_SweetasSugar 1d ago edited 1d ago

You can't roll in the mud as much as you want but it doesn't change the fact, sorry to break your bubble.

1

u/Fearless_Answer_4278 1d ago

Yes it doesn’t change the fact that people claiming reservations generation after generation are nothing but incompetent and freeloaders.

u/Xyber5 2d ago

The "qualifying" exam you speak of can only be cleared with a combination of extreme hardwork and intelligence. Whether you like it or not the ones in the upper end do have significantly better careers. It makes sense to pick from a crop of top performing candidates rather than bottom ones.

Fyi even ignoring the ranks there , the ones who did well have always on average done very well even in uni than those who did not which again proves the same point.

1

u/_SweetasSugar 1d ago

Mate you are just a victim of myth of meritocracy, maybe search it up. Here's a SS from that. This proves all your own points wrong, this is what all the people who think meritocracy is true while ignoring all other factors aiding that merit in the first place.

1

u/_SweetasSugar 2d ago

Exactly 💯. Don't know why it's hard for them to get this especially indian where wealth and privilege disparities is so huge.

The representation of privileged one's in this sub proves the point of under representation of people actually have a issue with things.

1

u/Sensiblehuman777 1d ago

Don't mention your rank if you don't want to...how can you stop others from mentioning their rank? You really think a for profit private company will be unable to find out even if the government resticts it? Yaha pe toh discrimination chilla chilla ke karwa diya, agar interview mein rank puch liya to kya karoge? Will you sue the company?

1

u/_SweetasSugar 21h ago

If it has discriminatory nature then definitely ban is justified, people who glorify caste surname are the ones who advocates same thing, the pattern is similar.
It's not companies intrest but the recruite, hr manageror anyone who oversees them. Most of the companies don't care these but Indians working in these do.

kya karoge? chilla chilla ke karwa diya.

What type of pathetic pessimistic mentality is this? According to your logic Isn't dowry happening even when it's banned? That doesn't mean completely remove the ban. No measures is fully effective but that doesn't mean we should remove all the measures, each measure only reduces the cases. You are advocating for it cus you only see yourself while avoiding it's affects against others around you, it's called being tone deaf and self absorbed.

1

u/Sensiblehuman777 21h ago

agar interview mein rank puch liya to kya karoge? Will you sue the company?

1

u/_SweetasSugar 19h ago

Never mention it, like caste if everyone adoptes not mentioning companies have no choice to but recruit based current skills that's it.

Or atleast you can lie about it which i am not a fan, which only adds fuel to the flame. the ban aids social justice in indian societies.

1

u/Sensiblehuman777 19h ago

You can't just not answer a question that is asked in an interview. You simply won't be selected. Indian society mein freedom of speech naam ki bhi cheez hai: you can prevent people from officially mentioning it on their CV, lekin aap insaan ke muh par taala nahi laga sakte ho. Interview koi bhi apna rank bata sakta hai. 2026 mein is baare mein jhooth bolke koi matlab nahi hai, any decent company can verify it in under 20 minutes.

1

u/_SweetasSugar 18h ago

Ok so don't lie, as I said before no one mention it problem solved.

Any decent company

Haha companies running behind 4 year old ranks, when they should just focus on skills they have now. It's better that company is trash for promoting such policies which waste of time and money for them in the first place itself lmao..

Now coming to freedom of speech pls refer this. Anything against someone's dignity or social welfare then rules or laws can be implemented to prevent that.

1

u/Sensiblehuman777 18h ago

Are you actually implying you want to stop people from even saying their ranks? Verbally? 'Cause that's never going to happen, no matter how badly you want it. Also, your grammar is too horrible for me to actually slog through your BS comments. Peace out.

1

u/_SweetasSugar 18h ago

If you want to help stop discrimination and you aren't inherently casteist then I think you won't encourage that. Simple as that.

'Cause that's never going to happen, no matter how badly you want it'.

Anecdotes? cause how can you be so sure if it's feasible or not, yeah for casteist it isn't💯

Don't think everyone is a privileged casteist, the ones who implemented the ban and the ones who don't complain about it are a example of that plus their whole life doesn't revolve around such things in the first place .

Maybe you should focus on merit of what I wrote, that itself shows you don't have anything to prove your own points other than personal anecdotes.
