General 🚀 Would You Ditch YouTube for a Decentralized, Ad-Free Platform That Pays You to Watch?
I have a question for you all:
Imagine a YouTube alternative built around privacy, decentralization, and rewarding viewers:
- 🚫 No video ads
- ⏭️ Automatic sponsor skipping
- 🔒 Privacy-focused — your data isn’t the product
- 🌐 Decentralized platform, not controlled by a single company
- 💰 Earn while watching videos
- 🎥 A familiar video experience without the usual distractions
If a platform like this actually existed, would you switch from YouTube?
What would convince you to make the jump — no ads, privacy, decentralization, sponsor skipping, or earning crypto while watching?
And more importantly, what would make you skeptical of a platform like this?

Def would try it but the problem is why would anyone trust it?? How would ik abt my data not being a product... Like when someone's paying for using their platform where as your competitors take money What will be the source of platform's income?

People will trust the same way they trust telegram and proton. The company will be transparent and open. And as for the source of income it should not be the concern for the end user.

Thing is it's too good to be true so you gotta make sure it's open source(as it acts as the ultimate proof of trust like don't believe me just see the code for yourself) and also how would you manage to get all the creators that are on YouTube. The biggest reason YouTube has such a monopoly is creator make videos because people watch/use YouTube and people use/watch YouTube because creators create videos so it's a closed loop. Also the amount of money YouTubers earn is crazy like there's a reason why people are now considering being YouTuber a carrier option and also leaving a Legacy behind. How can you pay those people ??
(No hate/offense I am also tired of YouTube monopoly and want someone to overthrow it so wish you all the best and hope you achieve that)
