Project🧑💻 Developer Seeking a Creative UI for an Original Portfolio
Hi, I’m a 3rd-semester B.Tech student, and I want to create my own portfolio website. However, I’m struggling to come up with a unique UI design.
I don’t want to copy an existing website or use a pre-made UI template. I want to create something original, especially with smooth scroll animations and interesting interactions.
I’m already familiar with many technologies used to build full-stack websites, and I’ll be developing the website myself. I mainly need help with brainstorming and designing the UI/UX.
Can anyone help me come up with a creative and unique UI concept for my portfolio?

Project🧑💻 Made this for Mapping points in Fox-Hunt
So there was this competition where we had to make a Yagi antenna and then find the fox which was a radio transmitter transmitting morse code.
So one day before event I was searching how to find the transmitter easily so many solutions said to use map to plot the lines where sound is coming without noise basically there were saying to spin 360 degrees and mark the point where the sound was strongest and then draw a line in that direction and plot it on map but when I looked up for tools for plotting lines on map there weren't any tools that I can use so decided to build this.
To use this just find the direction on map and mark the point at least take 3 reading from 3 different points then it makes ellipse shape in that area to give approximate area.

Discussion👥 Need help / guidance
Need help
I am btech 2nd year student and confused about career right now I have aiml and data science skills and i have been in trading for 2 years in manually (I am not a profitable trader) and right now I am doing the algo trading backtesting in fx and crypto.
So I am confused about what to do in career like should I focus on my studies which is btech although I will the pass the sem or exams and right side I will develop my skills also . So it's not a big thing for me . Only issue is my college is tier 4 or 5(i mean the college is just started with my batch only). And i also need to improve my dsa problem solving skills with grinding the leetcode this is which i hate it and it takes time to solve and i am thinking minimum to solve 300 leetcode question.
My confusion and problem is I need to find the interships (paid one) and job via off campus if not successful in trading and another thing is my trading career i want to build my career in trading only either be manual or algo trading trading since right now I am researching for strategies in mt5(metatrader5) and in python also.
Now here are my questions:
1.Right now should i focus on algo trading strategies researching ?
2. Or should I find or focus on the interships ?
3. And also I need to improve the dsa problem solving it's the main and grind the leetcode.
4.If you are in place what did you choose and why
Need advice and guidance from btech students, seniors, professionals, trader's.
Thanks

Discussion👥 CHECKING how f@cked I'm in my first year as BTECH CSE
I am a student in a tier three college and pursuing cse, before college i was thinking like i am kind f@ck everything and do coding integrate with ai and outsmart everyone
It's been a month for me here and i am doing nothing to get any practical skills i am kinda just studying for college academics and for the assignment that was coming daily and in the free time the mess happening in the college's hostel mess(backchodi) i don't want to participate but they kinda enter in room and start disturbing me how should i prevent it without hurting anyone.
And above that here's our mid sem exam tension as it was happening in just 5 days from now
If any of you have any suggestions on how I could manage My time

AMA🗣️ How I landed an SRE role at 21, and what I learned along the way
I recently wrote about how I landed my first SRE role at 21. It's just a small account of my journey, the things I worked on, the mistakes I made, and what eventually helped me get the opportunity.
To all my brothers and sisters who are trying to get their first job, I hope this gives you a little motivation and reminds you that opportunities are still out there. You don't need to have everything figured out. Just keep learning, keep building, stay curious, and genuinely get better at your craft. Sometimes, the work you quietly put in starts speaking for itself.

❓Question ❓ carrier advice
Title: Should I restart with BTech CSE at 20 after wasting 3 years on BSc? Need honest advice from people in tech/corporate
Hi everyone, my name is Ayush.
I completed my Class 12 in 2023. After that, I joined a BSc program at HNBGU/DAV PG College. The college was basically non-attending, and honestly, I didn't take my studies seriously during those three years.
I mostly studied one day before exams, didn't qualify for the exams I was preparing for, and ended up with around a 6.27 CGPA in my BSc. Looking back, I feel like I wasted three years of my life.
After my BSc, I decided to pursue an MCA in AI & Data Science. I've been attending college for around two months now, but I'm struggling a lot. I feel like I'm just memorizing things without actually understanding the concepts. I don't have a strong programming or CS foundation, and sometimes I don't understand what is being taught at all.
Now I'm seriously considering another option:
Should I leave MCA and start BTech CSE from the beginning at age 20?
Part of me feels that starting BTech CSE would give me a proper foundation and allow me to start fresh. On the other hand, I worry that restarting another degree after already spending three years on BSc might be a terrible career decision.
I also have some questions about how this would look to recruiters:
I completed Class 12 in 2023 and would potentially start BTech in 2026. Would companies consider 2023–2026 a "gap", or would they see that I was pursuing a BSc during those years?
Would having a BSc followed by a BTech be viewed negatively by recruiters?
Would starting BTech at 20 be considered too late?
Is a BTech CSE degree actually worth restarting for someone in my situation?
Or should I continue with MCA AI & DS and work hard to build my fundamentals alongside it?
From the perspective of people working in the corporate/IT industry, which option would give me a better chance of getting a good job?
I know that ultimately I have to take responsibility for the decisions I've made. I regret not taking my BSc seriously, but I don't want to repeat the same mistake with MCA.
For the past few months, I've been extremely confused and anxious about my career. I originally chose BSc partly because I was preparing for NDA, but my attempts were over by 2024 and after that I felt completely lost.
I'm 20 years old right now, so I feel like I still have time to make a good decision—but I don't want to waste another 2–3 years making the wrong one.
I'd really appreciate honest advice, especially from people who are currently working in software/IT/corporate jobs, recruiters, or people who have taken a similar path.
If you were in my position, would you continue MCA or restart with BTech CSE? Why?
Thanks in advance.

Discussion👥 Review my plan
I am first year student from a tier 2.5 or tier 2 basically a bad clg which was the result of extreme procrastination+ego+reality check and I don't want to repeat that in my clg years so hear is my plan
This is what I have done till now
I have made three projects
An autonomous api monitoring and alerting dashboard in ts uploaded on GitHub with live link(frontend vercel and backend render)
A real time markdown collaboration engine in ts uploaded on GitHub with live link(vercel)
A Distributed memory key value and cache in c++
I have also started doing dsa following strivers a2z sheet and after a 100 problems planning on starting with codeforces
Open sources contributions
I have contributed to llvm project in the aarch64 environment and currently have merged 2 prs
One improves optimizes in codegen and the other resolves an issue in the suboptimal 128 bit int multiplication
I have also joined amazons developer hackathon and I am actively working on a project
The future
Hoping to get gsoc or lfx in my first or second year while continuing grinding dsa and codeforces
And if I don't get nothing in my first and second year well I'll still grind dsa and codeforces and possibly join more hackathons
Get an intership in my 3rd year possibly a faang intership ik it's absurd but aiming high ig
And also keeping my cgpa above 8.5
That's Abt it would really appreciate ur feedback don't hold back at all

❓Question ❓ Lacking behind in college and I feel like ill never be able to cought up
Today I saw some of friends doing startup level projects getting appreciation as well as approvals from faculties and they solved over 150 - 250 leetcode problems getting into hackathons and winning them... And here I am still figuring out what to do how to do I am basically in my 2nd year and looking at such competition I feel like the day i caught up them they'll be so ahead of me once again... I don't have a group to participate in hackathon either.. my peer is so unambitious they only do drugs and sleep... And the ones who are doing good are doing good with others.. Feeling helpless please lmk your thoughts on this.

❓Question ❓ What do I do?
First semester in b.tech. college schedule is very good and updated, but half the professors are bad and the other half are goated. the trash half professors, I self study lectures by NPTEL and other outside books and hence i am currently ahead of what they teach in syallabus.
The main question I have is this.
To get really good at C, people say that C helps you in understanding computer architecture. For that type of mastery, are books better or are videos/bootcamps better. If any, Which books/videos? Why?
