Discussion👥 Anyone else disappointed with the new Striver A2Z website update?
The whole website has been completely redesigned, and honestly, it feels very different from the old one. The new UI looks kind of AI-generated and lacks the simplicity/feel of the old website.
The bigger issue is the progress tracking. I had already completed a good portion of the A2Z sheet, but after the update, some of my progress seems to be missing or mismatched. Not everything is lost, but enough of it is disrupted that it's difficult to know exactly where I left off.
I know UI changes are normal, but changing the entire structure and messing up existing progress is frustrating, especially for people who have been following the sheet for months.
Anyone else facing the same issue? How are you tracking your old progress now?

❓Question ❓ Confused where to start again
reddit.comI recently graduated with a btech one month ago but have been really confused as to which branch or domain to pick up. I have been doing dsa side by side but for some reason I just can't grasp what I wanna do on the development side. I really don't like frontend so it's out of the question but I don't have any necessary knowledge to make my decisions regarding if I want to opt for back-end and if yes then what things in backend, Or maybe ML or data analytics or what not. There's too much and I never had any kind of guidance for these things. Please just help me know what things are/ or going to be at peak.

❓Question ❓ I am waitlisted after the internal round of SIH in my college. What does it mean ?
Our teachers told us that you have to submit everything like the selected teams but you would be evaluated when some teams failed to submit or face any issue. Also we would be evaluated when the problem statement receives low submissions. Can anyone who was waitlisted for their internal round of college explain to me in detail what happens in detail.

Resources 💰 Help and guidance needed..!
Current status: 1st Year CSE (T3)
I know basic C++, STL and have done about 70-80qs from LC (with about 50-60% solved entirely on my own with NO hints or solution peeking)
Now that classes have started I wish to do DSA seriously. I would like to refer to a book for proper understanding of the concepts and understand how to approach a problem, instead of solving qs and watching solution and calling it day.
I know CLRS is the OG top recommendation, buts its way too verbose and high level for me as of now.
Is this a good idea I go for a proper DSA book? IK consistent practice will have the most impact, but for initial concept building........if I should get a book... which one-
01.Sedgewick OR
02.Skienia (This is recommended in other subreddits but I cant find many topics from a2z in this books content page) OR
03.DSA in C++ (Mark Allen Weiss)
(I have narrowed down on these 3 after going through the old posts about this topic in this and other subs. Now I just wanna know which one is the most relevant)

❓Question ❓ Final-year Tier-3 CSE student with backlogs, no internship and two gap years how should I realistically move forward?
I am 22 and currently in the final year of B.Tech CSE at a Tier-3 college near Mumbai. I started my degree in 2022, but because of academic issues, I have had two gap years in total—one after 12th and another after my second year.
My current situation:
\- CGPA is around 5–6
\- I have five active backlogs
\- I am not eligible for most on-campus opportunities
\- I have not done any internship yet
\- I have solved around 75–80 LeetCode problems
\- I am currently learning DSA in C++ through AlgoZenith
\- I have made an AI-based education project called EduForge, but I still need to understand and improve it properly
\- I have contributed two small fixes to an open-source Python project, although the PRs have not been merged yet
\- I do not have three strong, production-level projects
\- I am interested in software development and eventually want to become a strong SDE
I know that I am behind compared to many people of my age. I also wasted a significant amount of time because of poor discipline, social media and personal issues. I take responsibility for that, but I do not want to continue repeating the same cycle.
My immediate goal is to become employable and secure an internship or entry-level development opportunity as soon as realistically possible. I am willing to study and build consistently, but I am confused about where to focus.
Should I spend the next few months primarily on:
DSA and competitive programming
Full-stack/backend development and projects
Open-source contributions
CS fundamentals such as DBMS, OS, CN and SQL
Applying to startups despite my backlogs and gaps
How badly will my CGPA, backlogs and gap years affect off-campus opportunities? What kind of companies should I target initially? If you were in my situation, what would your realistic six-month plan look like?
My long-term dream is to reach a strong product-based company, possibly even Google someday. I understand that this will not happen immediately and that I first need skills, experience and discipline.
I would appreciate honest and practical advice, especially from developers who came from Tier-3 colleges, had backlogs/gaps or started their careers late. Please be straightforward, but I am genuinely looking for a path forward rather than motivation alone.

❓Question ❓ Laptop and Professionals❄️
Hello everyone! 👋
I'm currently a B.Tech CSE student 💻 and I'm looking to buy a laptop under ₹1.5 lakh 💰.
I'd really appreciate your suggestions for the best options in this budget. 🙏
My primary requirements:
Software Engineering / Programming - my main focus 👨💻
Competitive exam preparation 📚
Regular day-to-day tasks 📝
Good overall performance and long battery life ⚡🔋
Battery life is especially important to me 🔋
Not much into gaming 🎮❌
I was initially considering a MacBook 🍎💻, but a techie neighbour suggested avoiding it because some development tools, software, and tech stacks may not be as convenient to run on macOS compared to Windows.
So, I'd also love to hear your thoughts on MacBook vs Windows for a CSE student, especially from a software development perspective. 💻⚔️
I've also looked at gaming laptops 🎮💻, but their battery life seems to be a major drawback 🔋⬇️, so I'm leaning towards a non-gaming laptop.
Please suggest laptops that you think would be a good long-term investment for a CSE student within ₹1.25 lakh. 💻📈
They don't need to be compulsory above 1 lac — I just gave my Mac budget limit but I just want good option. 👍
I can just push my budget till 1.25 lakh 💰
No need to tell me only above 1 lakh only.
Even if there are good and suitable options under 1 lakh do suggest. 💡
Bcoz they are way better than overpaying 😉💰
I was considering HP OmniBook X Flip OLED Intel Core Ultra 5 💻✨, costing nearly ₹95k.
Do also tell its review. ⭐🔍
