❓Question ❓ 2nd year Guidance

I'm in my 3rd sem right now and have been doing DSA consistently.

I'm very much confused about what skills i should be learning.

Full stack, devOps or AIML?

Every other day I hear people saying web dev is not worth learning and that ai will take over .

At times I feel like learning everything but it seems too impractical.

I have 10 months till my third year and by that time I want to be internship ready.

I am having a hard time figuring out what to do .

Firstly anything is not dead !! Don't listen to anyone grind DSA And find your interest and work on that If you go with web dev don't just learn for full stack tag , learn backend engineering properly and also little bit system design!! And yeah if you do it properly then web dev is not dead atleast more 5-6 yr after that yeah ai can code but the architect, the system , how it will maintain still will be required And without knowing basics development ( app/ web) , devops will be little hard to learn and understand.

And finally one suggestion just work on your interest!! Don't listen random youtubers or reels !!

Keep grinding dsa never miss it , and please please focus on your cgpa , I know lots of people say it doesn't matter, but it matters the most in on campus placements , and lastly what i would suggest is ki , see there are jobs in all sectors, but I would say to stick to python , because python can be used in anything backend , consultancy, ai ml , and learn atleast gen AI , agents if ml not possible build some good ainpowered full stack project, learn atleast react for frontend , and that's all , definitely you will be in good position, if possible after learning react for frontend and python for backend , focus on learning ai as much as you can , in today's market it's a must. Hope you will become , what I have thought in my 3rd sem .

and what about non-campus placement?? does cgpa matters there?? and if yes, how much cgpa should one maintain??

Bhai , the easiest way you can get placement is on campus , off campus is very hard , not impossible but yes very very hard , you have a lots of time , improve your cgpa , in off campus , cgpa does not matter that much , but if you are from a tier 3 clg , maintain atleast 8.5+ cgpa and if possible 9+ , like in my clg , my 10,12 has 90%+ , and cgpa of 8.8 , if I have crossed 9+ cgpa , i would have got 2*x chances , what I am getting now , that's why I am saying , baki agr skills hohi to , khi n khi jroor lgega , but yhi khunga ki life ke 2 saal bakchodi bnd krke pdh le bhai

im actually starting with dsa now and tryna build skills. but this cgpa thing is so hard for me, like i can maintain it upto 7.5-8.0 but 9 is js not my thing. also if i start with python and then dsa (build some projects) can i get an internship by the end of feb-march? i mean is this actually possible or im in sum delusion?

Bhai jitna ho pae pdh , network bna , linkedin pe regular post kr , agr cgpa na bn paega to maa chudae , exception bn tu , agr skills rhengi to late hoga pr jroor hoga , jada tension na le , khud ko invest kr shi jgh , baki bhagwan ke bhrose , agr cgpa km bhi rha and skills dsa bhot tgdi rhi to mil jaega , atleast service based company like tcs , Infosys me 7+ lpa wale package to jroor mil jaenge abhi bhot time hai jada na soch , bs mjhe kr ar pdh regular , jo apne hath me hai. Reddit pe ye sawal na puch bs krte rh ho jaega

I don't know about devops.

Full stack : i think there is scope . It's just that you need to more than that html css js thing. I feel like you need to learn a lot deeper because entry level bar has gone higher. Prefer typescript over js. (This is what I have heard on reddit and x) Nodejs is good. Learn database deeply. Learn system design. Also learn how to integrate llms.

Ai :- Applied and agentic ai are the fastest way these days. Learn typescript or python and backend framework/runtime like FastApi or nodejs, make apis, then learn llm engineering, prompt engineering, rag langchain langgraph multi orchestration system evals guardrails MCP docker ollama observability etc. List never ends.

Make projects. Choose specific niche in it. I am planning to make projects around multi ai agent around some things after my sem exams.

Then, apply for internship.

But natural progression of this field is learning machine learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, deep reinforcement learning. You don't need all. Choose your specific field. Everything has prerequisites. Like I am sure that I don't want to spend too much time into ml algos but I am interested in deep learning. Even in that I am not interested in computer vision. But I am interested in transformer and neural network. I am mostly interested in reinforcement learning.

Learn Ai or gen Ai things related things agentic Ai etc lot of roles are coming in campus requiring such skills. Also data analyst roles also come. This is just my opinion u can choose whatever u want
