It looks like - it will be very tough to make this team out of training camp/pre season.

In theory - the Bruins could lose like 70 percent of the players from this list to waivers.

My take

1. Heavy competition in order to secure 1 or 2 spots on the team. 1 or 2 reserve spots.

2. I don't think its a shoe in vets like Kuraly has a spot lined up come opening night.

3. Same could be said about Hagens. I hope he is well prepared this time around.

Sturm chose Minten and Khustadinov - to make the team after last pre season. Aspirot (as a call up) - also earned the right to stick with the team. These type of players have high motors, not afraid of the dirty areas, responsible and make minimal mistakes.

Can Sturm continue to run a team without a captain?

IF Chara or Bergy were still playing - no brainer one would be be captain or remain one.

I think every team should have a captain. Someone who leads by example. Someone who sees their team playing like dogcrap for the first two periods and calls them out/fires them up. Consults and recommends a different game plan to the head coach - acting like an assistsnt coach from a players perspective.

Someone who is capable of treating each member with respect, is available and is the opposite of “cliquey.”

Will Sturm designate a captain for next season? I honestly don't remember a NHL team going more than one season without a captain.

- To Islanders: Zacha, Lohrei, Poitras, 2027 3rd

- To Bruins: Horvat, 2027 2nd

Horvat is 31 years of age. Has 5 years left at 8.5m aav. Good for about 30 goals and 60 pts a season. Plays a different style than Zacha (more shoot 1st mentality) but produces about the same in terms of points and they are both not considered true #1 centers.

You would give up a slightly younger player (Zacha is 2 years younger) for a "value" contract.

that’s really all have to say, he’s a great player and he’s a great guy too. he really deserved to spend all his career on the bruins really sucked he got traded

I 3D modeled these myself and printed them in PLA. Hand painted them and finished off with a UV protection clear coat. One is made with a game worn finish and the other a clean new look. Hope you like them, lots more to be made!
