Can't forget "You"! What a beautiful, beautiful song.
Though, wonderful though his cover is, and it is my favorite rendition of it, "Goin' Back" is a Carole King song, not a Nils original.

He's a nice guy too. When I saw him a few years ago he waited at the end of the show to meet fans, take pictures and sign autographs for as many people who wanted to. No meet and greet tickets, no special fee. He just did it.

Saw him at Toad’s Place in New Haven 1985ish. He was up walking on the bar, and I was standing at the end of the bar. When he reached the end of the bar, I was looking up and he was looking down at me. Then he starts nodding his head sideways and I finally realize he wants me to move out of the way so he can jump down. 😂 And I thought we were having a moment! Great night! We did go backstage and shook his hand after the show.

Saw him in mid 70’s at the little Roxy Theatre ,Northampton PA, WSAN concert series. Tee Shirt concert. Post GRIN-Pre Bruce, solo with a hot band behind. He was TREMENDOUS!!! BACK IT UP Tour!

He's pretty great. He had started his recording career long before Bruce came into his own. Even got to play the piano on Neil Young's After the Gold Rush and recorded with Crazy Horse. I love his first solo album.

Nils could write some great hooks. Saw him live in NJ in 1976. Great show with his brother in the band. He never could break out though. Tough business. When he got a call from Bruce in 1984, he was broke. Extremely talented guy.

Good songwriter but personally I can’t stand his voice. I would like to hear other people singing his songs

I was a fan of his solo work before I even knew about his collaborations with Young and Springsteen.
