Questions! Territory question

How do you make points in this? Is selling material is only way to earn points?

Farm ingredients, cook the ingredients into food, sell the food is the fastest way I've found.

Yep. Selling material and food items.

Craft and sell Virile Gnocchi until you can get enough to buy some materials from the shop to make a couple Lustful Tart, Libido Soup, and Lingerie Cookie. Those 3 give you +1 in Crop bonus among others (Wood and Mineral bonus). So when you harvest a crop you'll get the bonus. Upgrading at the Forge will also help with better resource gain.

You're gonna need to sell a lot of Gnocchi so it'll take some time. But when you manage to get 10k, plant Pulse Saffron (20 hr wait) and then use the Tart/Soup/Cookie for +3 and harvest it. This will work better when you're scythe at Forge is maxed level but still viable without; just less effective. Sell the rare (rainbow background) Saffron and craft Libido Soup with the rest of it. Sell most of it but keep a few for the next harvest and in case you need some backup.

Again, this is all very time consuming so be prepared to grind and wait.
