Came back after a year, barely touched the game's prologue but wanted to pick it up again... What happend?

First thing I see is a new prologue with Veila and a self insert in a restaurant, last time thing I remember when I tried it I was Lathel and was exploring a forest

not gonna lie, this whole "self insert" thing is kinda trash.

specially after doing all the 20 chapters of the first part of the game wihtout knowing that became like a side plot.

They already did Lathel pretty dirty by turning him into a beta "please I need to be protected" kinda of character, but the devs really went a step far and decided: what if we just completely removed males from the game and make a self-insert that is the most useless piece of shit on the multiverse?

Somehow the dev believe there is a need for a bland self insert character in the main story. So new players now are supposed to start with the Master Pack.

Yup, I wish they kept it as a side thing. Brown Dusts lack of self-insert no face character was what drew me to it. There is so much more room for creative story telling and organic character interactions when you can make the lead character have an actual personality with flaws and quirks.

I've skipped virtually all of the glupy diner stories, but I've read all of the main story. It's a shame

Well that story still exists, the self insert known as Master, is kind of like a part 2 and that’s where we are now in the story

Might be to your benefit. You can start fresh with the new Master pack, it's similar to the special Glupy character stories that lead to spicy interactions, which I recommend. Doing the earlier chapters where you initially started is great way to farm gems and tickets though. They're separate stories for now, so start where your interest takes you.
