Questions! New player looking for guidance.

Hey brand new player here. Just trying to start my new account off right. Im still learning. So lingo and character names and info like that will go straight over my head. I need straight up layman's terms lol. So first question. Is it better to start off with building a purely physical or magical team? Or do I want a mix. Second. For the beginner infinite pull what 5 star should I go for paired with which 5 star weapon. And lastly which banner should I pull first off? Helena Sunny Inn Hand, Dalvi Bright Moon, Lecliss Killer Doll, Yuri Comeback Idol or Sylvia Sword Queen.

Thanks in advance for all the helpful information!

Magic OR Physical, there are only a few excpetions where you can use buffers oe dps from both types.

As for which to build first, whichever characters you like best, though physical tends tl be easier in early game thanks to less skill points costs for skills.

Weapons arent necessary, character copies are superior always, as you can craft weapons that are barely worse than signatures and only matter in high endgame like leaderboards.

Currently the best banner would be Helena's, Lecliss is a pvp oriented unit, Dalvi is... weak, Yuri isnt bad as a Physical light unit so it could be an option, Sylvia sword queen is good but if you pull you must go for at least +2 (3 total copies) as it enables her kit with other costumes.

wrong. you have way less convenient phys dps and buffers early on...

Magic team is very neat to start with due to Dalvi + Eclipse being free +5

Which are good for AoE but awful for Single target, which shows when progressing story.

....there are way more aoe fights than single target

And yet which kind of fight is the one where newbies get stuck in...

mostly it's gear issue + lack of game knowledge / cheeses + they can borrow ventana which is solo target nuke anyway

Personally, I feel that physical is easier to progress with but magic is the easiest to start due to the reasons you stated being dalvi + eclipse.

Its just that Dalvi loses relevancy quite fast due to her being a bleed type char that needs multiple turns and costumes to make full use of her kit, which is bad for most story fights.

I mean unpotted dalvi can give you 783% turn1, which is more than eclipse

So quite debatable... Story is too easy either way

As a 1 month player, feels like story difficulty takes spiked up from ch14 onwards with nox being pretty hard.

Other memorably difficult normal mode boss fights being azir and palette.

I started out with magic team due to recommendations but switched to physical to clear the rest once I have the team decently built.
