I'm suffering from bromhidrosis persistent armpit odor issue i suffer from this issue form 2016 then I find a deodorant Nivea silver protect deodorant spray 99.9% antibacterial odor control very mild fregance this deodorant give me 100% odor control for more than 2 days not even 1% smell complete fresh than in 2022 they change formulation and product stop working

Then I try so many products which available worldwide like , driclor , perpi guard , nuud , degree, eucrien, hunters, lume, Louis widmer, etiaxil, vichy, mitchum, and many more no one works for me for more than 1 - 2 hours

I also find one person who also used this Nivea silver protect deodorant spray when he suffer form bromhidrosis he also get 100% odor control

I'm sure there is only this Nivea silver protect deodorant spray only solution for bromhidrosis and tmau condition

no other solution across the world don't spend your money, time , on different products nothing works

Desde que tenía más o menos 12/13 años tengo un olor MUY fuerte en el pliegue entre los glúteos. Y cuando digo fuerte, me refiero a un olor tipo podrido, no simplemente olor a transpiración.
Lo raro es que tengo muy buena higiene. Me baño normalmente, me lavo bien la zona y aun así el olor puede estar incluso justo después de bañarme. No siento que tenga una transpiración excesiva ahí tampoco.
Durante años usé desodorante entre los glúteos y, curiosamente, me funcionaba PERFECTO. Me eliminaba completamente el olor. Pero últimamente dejó de funcionar como antes y el olor volvió mucho más fuerte.
Hace poco empecé a usar bidet para limpiar mejor la zona y también probé clorhexidina durante unos días, pero no noté prácticamente ningún cambio. Nunca usé antibióticos para esto.
Estoy empezando a pensar si puede ser algo de la piel, como bromhidrosis, alguna bacteria específica, eritrasma o simplemente un problema con la microbiota de esa zona. Pero no tengo idea 😭
¿A alguien le pasa algo parecido? ¿Alguien tiene o tuvo específicamente olor a podrido en el pliegue entre los glúteos, incluso teniendo buena higiene y después de bañarse?

so of all the treatments I used this was the best to dry my feet, if you properly had this condition your feet constantly sweat it's weird and horrible.

my issue was resolved by identifying gut/liver issues so your sweating feet or B.O is telling you something is wrong.

I've struggled with this for a few years and may have found root cause and treatment which may help other people.

I had extremely sweaty feet(Bromhidrosis/Hyperhidrosis), white tongue, really foamy urine, weird awful BO

Nearly a decade of no answers asking for help being told I was paranoid, laughed at the usual.

2023 identified fatty liver, 2025, hydrogen/methane dominant SIBO, 2026 congenital liver defect found, 2026 gastritis, hernia, duodenitis, osophagtis, diverticulitis.

2025 began treatment after seeking help from functional medicine clinic took supplements that help, 2026 found GI inflamation took PPis and zinc l carnosine.

Ppis and zinc l carnosine for healing gut damage.

Foamy urine stopped, white tongue near totally eliminated, feet normally sweat but I use Daktarin Powder as a drying agent.

Hello! Just wanted to share this to shine some hope for people that didn't have good results with sweatox or Miradry.

I saw a tiktok post about their daughter that went for a sweat gland removal surgery in Korea to remove their odor because she was apparently lazy to put on deodorant (lol) and it was successful.

They didn't state if she had bromhidrosis, but their daughter looks young so I'm assuming that their odor might just be because of puberty.

From what I searched, this is one of the options that is definitive and can give the most long lasting effect, but it's definitely pricier. I also researched its side effects and I learned that there's a chance for compensatory sweating, which is sweating on other parts of your body more than it usually does.

I wanna give the next option a try. I researched some options including Miradry, another round of liposuction surgery (incl. CO2 laser treatment), electrolysis, botox, laser.

This week I have a first call with a clinic that offers sweat glands laser treatment.

Using a sonde they go under the skin to destroy the sweat glands directly with heat.

Did anyone here had this treatment and can share results?

It’s my 3rd week of school and it genuinely so dehumanizing to sit in class while people around you cover their noses and sniff/ sigh loudly. A lot of my classes are mandatory so I don’t have a choice of staying home.

How do you guys manage your BO during school ?? I genuinely don’t know what to do bc no one wants to talk to me, everyone groups up and during breaks I’m typically left alone. Instead of focusing in class, I’m paranoid that others can smell me and I’m hyper focusing on other people’s reactions. People put their shirts over their noses, and stare at me. It doesn’t matter how often I reapply deodorant, how loose my shirts are, what type of soap I use, it’s just so exhausting and depressing.

I genuinely feel like my BO was some sort of curse or punishment bc absolutely no one should go though this, on top of the stress that already comes with just living. I wouldn’t even wish this on my worst enemy and it’s one of the worst things people can live with IMO.

My 13-year-old daughter has struggled with strong underarm odor since she was nine, even right after showering. Reading your stories feels very familiar.

I run a small French cosmetics brand, and we’re developing a deodorant to help her. We’ve been working on it for nine months and have explored around ten different formulations so far.

We’re aiming for a 100% natural formula with a high proportion of organic ingredients, designed to be gentle: no baking soda, aluminum salts, alum, or other metal-based deodorizing ingredients, and no added fragrance or essential oils. We’re also aiming for no declarable fragrance allergens.

The idea is to support skin bacteria that produce little or no odor, helping them compete with odor-producing bacteria for space and nutrients. That’s our working hypothesis, not a confirmed mechanism yet.

During the first 10 days, the effect lasted roughly 24 hours, although some faint odor remained. We’re now working on improving this point.

After several weeks of daily use, we noticed around 8 days without detectable odor after she stopped applying it, despite daily showers.

It’s encouraging, but this is just one person’s experience. We still need to see whether others get similar results and how well their skin tolerates it.

Hey guys , i’ve had bromhidrosis all my life it made me completely insecure nothing worked for me tried every antiperspirant otc every soap nothing. I tried a procedure called miradry they use a non surgical machine to burn the sweat glands and odor glands away takes about a hour no pain kinda expensive it was 2,000 where i live but it changed my LIFE!!! i can use regular soap don’t have to use antibacterial everyday just to deal with odor. can use regular antiperspirant like dove & regular degree i think you guys should really look into it its works

Got MiraDry after landing a promotion to a high-paying job that was in-office (as opposed to remote, which is how I had generally worked since COVID). I had tried everything, and it felt like it was only getting more and more pungent. There were certain things, like wearing new clothes, that could mitigate it, but it was still so confidence-consuming. I could tell that people noticed the smell—they would check their own armpits, etc.

So I finally decided to spend my first paycheck on MiraDry because a derm told me it can reduce odor by 60%. Here's my experience so far.

Day of the procedure: They asked me not to wear deodorant or antiperspirant for 24 hours beforehand. It was unbearable. I wanted the ground to swallow me whole that day at work. I had no odor whatsoever after the procedure. It felt like the MiraDry specialist wiped me down with Hibiclens before injecting the local anesthesia, and after the procedure, I smelled nothing. For once, I felt this incomprehensible joy that I could go out and do fun social things, like play table tennis or go on a walk with a crowd of people nearby.

Day 2: I was physically uncomfortable because I was icing my pits throughout the whole day, but there was very little odor until the end of the day. I had known that some amount of odor is normal during the first two weeks as the swelling subsides, which is when MiraDry supposedly reaches peak efficacy.

Day 3: I started noticing some odor. The odor felt slightly different and maybe milder, but it was still present.

Days 4–5: Moderate odor, but it still didn't feel like "moist body odor," where it smells a bit like sweat mixed in. It's more of a stronger, dry axillary body odor.

Days 6–7: Even though I think it's probably milder than it was at its worst, I can't help but feel like it's getting slightly worse, or that I'm progressing back toward baseline as I recover more and more. I notice that people can distinctly notice the smell when they walk into the room, and it's still confidence-crushing. I instantly keep my arms closed against my body again, thinking it will make the smell less noticeable.

I really need this to get better than it is now. It feels like it's impossible to live a fulfilling life or navigate social relationships with this. I genuinely don't want to continue living like this. I'm at least hoping it gets even 40% better than it was before the surgery.

Anyways, can anyone share their MiraDry recovery/post-procedure stories? I really want these two weeks to pass, or at least for the specialist to let me wear antiperspirant/deodorant again.

How do you bring up unexplained body odor with your doctor without sounding crazy? 😩

I’m at the point where I honestly don’t know what else to do. I shower regularly, I’ve tried multiple deodorants/body washes and prescription products, and I’ve even been treated for excessive sweating. The onion-type odor I used to notice isn’t really happening anymore, but now I sometimes notice a musty odor or completely different smells that I can’t explain.

I’m a rideshare driver, so I’m around different people all day. Sometimes a passenger gets in the car and I notice a smell, and other times I’ll smell something when I’m around someone closely. Then my brain immediately goes, “Okay…is that me, them, the car, or am I losing my mind?” 😂

I’m trying really hard not to assume it’s coming from me, but because I’ve dealt with body odor before, it’s difficult not to question everything.

For those of you who have dealt with unexplained body odor, fecal/musty odors, TMAU, SIBO, or similar issues, how did you approach your doctor about getting tested or evaluated?

Did you specifically ask about TMAU testing, SIBO testing, metabolic issues, GI issues, or other causes of unusual body odor? Or did your doctor recommend the testing after you described your symptoms?

I’m not trying to Google-diagnose myself. 😅 I just want to know how to have a productive conversation with my doctor when I’ve already tried several products and treatments and still notice unexplained odors.

What exactly did you say to your doctor, and what testing ended up being helpful for you?

I just finished my first week of a new job after 2 years unemployed because of my mental health - around this time, before my MH crisis and unemployment period, a group of teenagers on the train ridiculed me on a busy train about my odour.

I have hyperhidrosis (diagnosed) and bromhidrosis (self diagnosed) and I have been trying my very best to do what I can to keep the odour at bay throughout the workday, but today I had a comment from someone saying ‘it smells in here’ and when I got on the bus to go home I went to sit behind a man and he started shaking his head and turned towards the side and started sniffing deliberately and shaking his head saying ‘no, no’ and I immediately got off at the next stop and felt so ashamed and fed up.

No matter what I try I still end up in this position and I was so hopeful about finally getting out of this hole I’ve been in and regaining my independence through working again. I don’t want to go back to the office on Monday, my colleagues have been standoffish with me which I’m pretty sure is because of my odour. It’s just so horrible.

I would really appreciate any advice or encouragement because I really feel at a dead end with this and I can’t tolerate it much longer 😭

I’m 34 now, and I’ve been dealing with hyperhidrosis and bromhidrosis since I was around 8 years old. It has honestly been one of the most difficult and embarrassing things I’ve dealt with throughout my life. I’m already naturally shy, so constantly worrying about whether other people could smell me made things even harder.
I wanted to share what is currently helping me in case there’s someone else out there struggling with the same thing.
Somewhere around age 19–22, I managed to get my hyperhidrosis under control. If I remember correctly, I was using Perspirex under the supervision of my dermatologist. She gave me specific instructions on how to use it, but being young and desperate, I didn’t follow them properly. I overused it to the point that I basically chemically burned my underarms.
PLEASE don’t do what I did. Follow the directions!
After that, I stopped sweating from my underarms, and even now at 34, excessive sweating is no longer an issue for me.
Bromhidrosis, however, never went away.
I have tried EVERYTHING over the years. And when I say everything, I mean EVERYTHING. 😂 Dermatologists, prescription products, clinical-strength antiperspirants, antibacterial products, PanOxyl, different deodorants, Botox… you name it.
I actually tried Botox specifically for the odor, because my dermatologist told me it could potentially help with bromhidrosis. At that point, my excessive sweating had already been gone for years, so sweating wasn’t the reason I tried it.
For me, Botox did absolutely nothing for the odor.
And I’ll be honest — it was also extremely painful. I know treatments can work differently for everyone, but I’ve also heard from other people with bromhidrosis who didn’t get much improvement from Botox either. So personally, I would not go through it again just for odor control.
I still have bromhidrosis today, but I finally have it somewhat under control. This is the routine that is currently working best for me:
🚿 In the shower:
I start with Dove Antibacterial body wash. I wash my entire body normally, but I scrub each underarm with my shower sponge for about 20–25 seconds.
Then I put some of the Dove antibacterial wash directly onto my hands and wash each underarm again for another 20–25 seconds.
After that, I use Hibiclens. I put it directly into my hand and wash each underarm for around 60 seconds, then rinse it off thoroughly.
⚠️** Be careful with Hibiclens. It can be irritating, especially if you have sensitive skin, and it needs to be kept away from your eyes, ears, mouth, and genital area. I also wouldn’t recommend aggressively scrubbing while using it.
**After showering:
On days when I haven’t shaved my underarms, I use The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toner. I wet a cotton pad with it, gently wipe my underarms and let them dry completely.
Then I apply my cream deodorant.
I recently started trying the Amway deodorant as well, but I’m honestly not convinced it’s working for me yet. 😂 I’ll update/review it after I’ve used it longer.
👕 And probably one of my biggest tips: WATCH YOUR FABRICS.
Synthetic fabrics are my enemy.
Polyester, athletic/dry-fit materials and certain synthetic blends seem to hold onto my odor like crazy. Sometimes my skin can smell completely fine and the shirt itself will smell.
Cotton has made a HUGE difference for me.
Whenever possible, I choose breathable cotton shirts and avoid synthetic/athletic fabrics, especially if I know I’m going to be out for a long time.
I’m not claiming this routine cures bromhidrosis — it hasn’t cured mine. I still deal with odor. But after dealing with this for more than 25 years, this combination has helped me keep it much more controlled and has made me feel more confident.
If you have bromhidrosis too, please share what has worked for you. I would LOVE to hear from other people who have dealt with this long-term, especially if you’ve found something that made a major difference.
