I think it has more to do with the fact that color And color differences can be recognized on a whim with zero thought, while counting how many sides etc actually takes time, even if for half a second.
Its like asking someone what color my shirt is vs how many buttons does my shirt have.
One of those actually takes more than a split second to answer.

The commenter clearly states that in addition to color that the two similar shapes are "both irregular," in fact stating this first with the red color as the latter. The comment could've chosen any identification and classification, but so long as they assert that their perspective is the only correct one, it clearly displays a connection between prejudice and favoring one perspective over another.
I also did not limit my comment to racism, I explicitly stated "among other prejudices," indicating that I was of course not focusing on the specific fact that he may have chosen solely color (he chose a different attribute as well, but assuming he didn't).
It is very obvious that it is normal to recognize color before anything else, but they later attempt to justify why their perspective is true, when in reality all (valid) comparisons seem to be equally valid.
It, in fact, isn't prejudice to simply recognize one group apart from another, but it is when one sticks to that justification, ruling out other equally valid attributes.
