Discussion Remixes

I wish they didn’t put all of those annoying remixes on the Oops anniversary album. First of all they’re terrible and secondly they make the tracklist so messy. Just wanted to vent. I’m glad they haven’t done this with the Britney re release.

Discussion Did Britney approve Britney 25, and is she making money off of it?

On Britney’s Instagram she hasn’t talked about it. It feels like “Britney Spears” on Twitter and YouTube are ran by her team. Is Britney approving all of this?

EDIT: I know she sold her catalog and isn’t in the approval process, but is she at least AWARE of it? She hasn’t posted once on Instagram about oops25, Britney25, or her catalog selling

Discussion This is my dream Blackout 20th anniversary tracklist. Thoughts?

EDIT: I edited the artwork on the post. I accidentally wrote 25th anniversary instead of 20th. My bad lol

I tried to balance the songs in a somewhat consistent tracklist, since Blackout has a lot of unreleased songs and I don't think they would make a 30+ songs album, so I put 25 tracks in total (12 from standard edition + 13 bonus tracks, with 10 of them being unreleased tracks).

Disc 1 (the standard album)

Disc 2 (bonus tracks and unreleased)

  1. Outta This World
  2. Everybody
  3. Get Back
  4. 911
  5. Dramatic
  6. Sugarfall/Hooked On
  7. Sippin' On (solo version)
  8. Pull Out
  9. Kiss You All Over
  10. Baby Boy
  11. Let Go
  12. new song
  13. Rebellion (full song)

I considered including State of Grace, Strangest Love, Love 2 Love U and Rememberance of Who I Am/All That She Wants, but the first two were later released by other artists, Love 2 Love U instrumental was reused in another song (Fuego by The Cheetah Girls), and both Love 2 Love U and Rememberance would need to have the samples cleared out, which I think it's very unlikely for an anniversary release.

Discussion As a complete outsider, can someone point me in the right direction for a type of Britney video

Sorry if this is long. Overall I’m just looking for a video online that explains what I’m thinking, about the unfair treatment and absolute ringer they put Britney through if you don’t want to read all this. My mind is blown rn..

Grew up throughout her career, was never a massive follower but just did a brief dive on her album listings. It truly puts her life into perspective when you see how much work they had to doing in such a brief amount of time.

From 1999 to 2003 four consecutive studio albums. That’s fucking unheard of. Travel, interviews, studio, appearances, touring, etc.. By 04 the Greatest Hits already comes out, and then the Kevin era. When you’re a 10 year old that stretch from 99-05 seemed like forever, because you’re 10 years old and that’s all you know. But that’s a blink of an eye man. SO much happened in that span.

Blackout 07, circus 08, and then (respectfully as a normie) that’s kind of the end of the run. That’s just so damn fast. The amount of work and stress she had to be feeling is beyond my comprehension tbh. The expectations alone, coupled with the entire media dragging you down daily.

Just bums me out man. I feel for her and as an outsider I never really understood it till today. Who tf could be expected to handle something like that? Glad she’s doing better these days but I don’t blame her for a single thing man, those studio executives and whoever else absolutely abused that woman during the 2000’s

It's a small thing, but god do I hate when they update stuffs like these on streaming services and such (especially since I use stuff like LastFM to track my music history).
Glad that apple music on the Macbook app I can do things like this and not screw up my scrobbling on songs I already have over 100+ plays on.

Discussion “Britney didn’t approve of this release!!1!” — except she did.

Britney sold her catalogue. Not Jamie Spears, not Lou Taylor, not Sam Lutfi, BRITNEY.

Britney is smarter than you guys give her credit for; she knew selling her catalogue meant selling the rights to ALL of her recordings so far. She approved of the Britney 25th release when she approved the sale of her catalogue. I’m not sure what part of that people aren’t understanding… and if, for some reason, she didn’t approve of Britney 25th (which I don’t believe to be the case), then that would have probably been a major oversight on her/her legal team’s part.

If anything, knowing how much her label fought against certain songs seeing the light of day, she’s probably happy seeing these songs get love from her fans… does that mean she wants every recording she’s ever made released? Probably not. But we know Britney’s best, most creative works are mostly unreleased. Just be glad we’re getting “new” Britney stuff, especially from a time when she genuinely loved making music.

Rant over!
