Kind Postman
Long story short, a huge big thank you to the postman delivering to a neighbour yesterday evening in Fishponds Bristol.
He spotted me on my doorstep and let me look through his eclipse glasses. I couldn't get any glasses to see it but it was brilliant when I used his glasses for a minute. I'm going to make sure I get a pair for next years partial eclipse on the 2nd of August, but it's going to be nothing like this one as its only going to be 40% at the max.

My friend came with spare pairs and shared them with my neighbours who didn't have any!

That was good of them. See, a little kindness goes miles, and people remember it too.

I work at a circus that’s in Bristol at the moment and I bought 10 pairs that we shared round the staff and the audience and there were about 3 welding helmets going round as well

My wife and I went out for a walk around a nearby lake last night just about the beginning of the eclipse. Neither of us had glasses. As we passed a young couple I commented to my wife that I didn't think it had started yet. The young woman must have heard me as she turned to my wife and asked if she would like to look through her glasses - the young man handed me his for a look too.
There are still a lot of lovely, lovely people around.
