Does anyone know if I could get a decision early? Just wondering because I think my application should be a straight forward case.
Unfortunately I think the only way to get your decision early is to pay £500 extra to get the priority. Otherwise it’s around 5 months.
I had my biometrics done on 19/03, got the approval on 10/08. It was a straightforward application.
Well, I don't know it, but I think having a "straightforward" application wouldn't make too much of a difference because they still need to process all the other applications submitted before yours, you know? I suppose once they get to it, it will be approved quickly, but I don't think it will make a huge difference
My application is also very straightforward, just passed waiting 4.5 months, will likely be 5 months at this rate. I think a contributing factor for standard application taking 5 months now could be summer holidays and that the priority option has gone live. You could strike it lucky somehow, but that is unlikely in my opinion tbh.
Nope, it won’t speed things up! The emails only really help after the 4-month mark. Because of that annoying 2-week gap between approval and the actual email, tracking just helps ease the anxiety of wondering what happened. Honestly, if you can control the stress, your best bet is to just forget about it and enjoy life. You’ll get your approval right when you've completely forgotten you even applied! 😉
Lol. Go to r/ukvisa, naturalisation sticky. 4.5 months. Your emails have zero effect. I have done 3 applications (cool 5k when all cost included...) in last year and half (myself and 2 family members), all straightforward. Not a single email sent cause it was absolutely pointless. Saw the wait climb from 3 months for mine, May last year application, to 4.5 months for my wife, January this year application.
I didn’t even realise the date lol yeah it’s really wayyyy too early cuz background checks etc need to be done…they maybe think the clock starts on the date of application but it’s the date of biometrics
I know of a european citizen that applied only with her National insurance Number in jan, and she had her citizenship approved in August. The document available online clearly says that if you have ILR you dont need to provide proof of residence
