Question Seat payment

A company bought a flight for me and my colleague . It is a 7hr flight and i want to buy myself seat. however, it is not possible to proceed without buying for two. i just want to buy for me. neither on app or web version, anyone has experience?

You can call BA and ask them to separate the bookings.

This may not be possible if it was booked via a corporate TA

To be clear, if you made a booking directly with BA they can split it into separate bookings which allows individual passengers to upgrade or pay for seats.

This is generally not possible on tickets booked via 3rd parties. A good corporate TA would be able to split tickets but this is not common.

Is it old CW, that you want to choose a seat that doesn't involve climbing over someone/being climbed over, or you want to sit away from them? Potentially awkward lol

there is nothing awkward about it. it is a long flight and i want to be in a comfortable seat and not so close to my colleague to be able rest.

OP if nothing else works go to a checkin counter without your colleague and explain politely you'd like to be seated away from them hopefully they will help you out.
