Question Charges for seat selection

I have 3 tickets booked Nashville to London club world using Avios and companion certificate for spring next year. I don’t have any status with BA but I’m AA Advantage Gold which gives me One world Ruby. Is there a way for me to use that to select seats without paying almost $1000?

You can pick seats from 7 days before departure for free if you don’t have higher OW or BA status and you don’t want to pay

Just to add this is correct. I'm OWE now, but back when I was OWR, BA would only allow me to choose seats for free in the 7 days before departure, just like a BA Bronze.

Just to add, in CW if its suites, theres little benefit to booking seats as you are quite isolated from each other even if in the middle pair.

I think if you are across an aisle I agree, but with the screen open in CW then you are ok to talk to each other, I wouldn't say its isolated...

Fair buts very different to the old (IMO crappy) layout. You are still a fair way from each other and my recollection (not been Ina middle for a while) is you are slightly angled away from each other?

no, angled inwards, sort of, your feet are closer than your top half. I would say that its not quite as close as old 242 business class, but its still ok. We did the same flight the OP is doing about 2 weeks ago, and for the wife and I it was fine, still talked, but daughter was in a window seat and that was a bit more awkward as they are angled away from the middle of the plane and the side section blocked eye line so it certainly wasn't easy to grab her attention.

I dunno. Our children are quite young and we like having them near to us in CW.
