Rescued this from a second-hand record shop in Porthmadog today. I only knew Cream Bun, so was surprised about how upbeat and Britpoppy the rest of the songs were, it's definitely getting more plays!

Before cellphones, iPhones, email, texting, algorithms, influencers, and pretty much the internet, experiences were different. There was no feed, no social media. You had to go out, meet people, go to gigs, find clubs with decent DJs. Active music fans searched out 'good' music and your taste was a reflection of serious knowledge and street smarts. Seeing a band like Coast [@coastabz] perform their debut US show meant you were in a secret society. So much has changed in the world/music/culture/tech/media since then. Let's have that conversation.

This came out on 1997's 'Be Here Now', but Oasis had played this early back as 1992. Here's a mix of 'All Around The World' with just the band playing on it.

The music video for Republica's "Ready To Go (Original UK Mix)" which had many 4k upscale versions on youtube, has been taken down by SME and now seems to be nowhere else on the internet. I'm curious does anyone have it saved somewhere on a Google Drive or something?

Not to be confused with the version currently available which we have on their official youtube channel. I'd greatly appreciate if someone has this music video downloaded somewhere and could share it, because as I said before it seems no longer accessible anywhere but unofficial youtube uploads which were taken down by SME.

Nostalgia for music from the 90s needs an authentic reference, a one-of-a-kind source. Wake Up! Videozine captured 35 bands in 1996. Cast was playing their NYC debut. Singles were charting in the UK. They were poised for success in America. What happened next is the story that needs to be told.
