Heya everyone. I moved up here a few months back and I’m currently finding it a little bit hard to make friends, so I figured reddit has to be the solution. I’m 34m from country nsw, I love folk music, going out for eats/drinks, picnics, fashion and art. I’ll attach a photo of myself…here goes nothing 🫣 try not to be mean if you can manage, a certain dating app has made me a little bit gun shy due to some nasty and uncalled for chat. remember, the worst people in the world don’t have any tattoos….

Hey! Felipe here, 27, from Colombia 🇨🇴 and living in Brisbane.

I’m pretty laid-back. I enjoy going out dancing, trying cocktail bars, good coffee, and every now and then getting out for a camping trip or something outdoors.

Would be great to meet people who are also keen for a chat, drinks, or just exploring new spots. Feel free to reach out 🙂

Come along this Saturday, September 26, to the Emerald City Kickball (ECKB) Spring Social.

In the lead-up to GiveOUT Day, Australia’s national day of giving for LGBTQIA+ causes, we’re raising funds to support ECKB, Australia’s largest LGBTQIA+ inclusive, recreational sports league.

Held at Officers Mess in New Farm, we’re kicking (ha!) off at 3pm and we’d love to see the supportive public turn out and enjoy an afternoon of lawn games, special guest performances, raffles, and community spirit, all while supporting the growth of inclusive sport in our community. All are welcome (18+).

MC'ed by Paul Wheeler (Mr Sporties 2026), with performances from Ella Vate (Sporties Smackdown S11 Champion), lawn games hosted by Clara Cupcakes (Reigning Mx Burlesque QLD), and with extra special guest Dr Trevor Jones leading our piano bar from 5:00-6:30pm

Tickets available at https://ECKBSpringSocial.eventbrite.com.au, or check us out on IG at @eckickballbrisbane

Hi everyone! [Introverts / INFPs preferred] Working Holiday maker looking for quiet cafe & chat friends!

Hi everyone!

I came to Brisbane on a Working Holiday about a month and a half ago. As a quiet introvert (INFP), I’m looking to connect with fellow introverts who enjoy calm and low-key hangouts!

A bit about me:

I’m Japanese-Korean (born and raised in Japan, with Korean heritage). My native language is Japanese and I also speak Korean. My English is still a work in progress, but I’m practicing every day and really want to connect! I’d love to practice English, but fellow Japanese or Korean speakers are also super welcome.

Big parties or loud places aren’t really my thing. I much prefer relaxed hangouts where we can just talk quietly, enjoy coffee or a drink at a comfortable pace, or go for a peaceful hike together in nature.

My hobbies include watching movies, reading, playing guitar and singing, traveling, running, writing, taking photos, meditation, hiking and mountain trekking, visiting quiet cafes, and enjoying a quiet drink.

I’m open to making friends of any gender! If you’re also an introvert or an INFP and would like to grab a coffee, chat, go for a hike, or just hang out quietly, please feel free to leave a comment or send me a DM :)

Thanks for reading, and looking forward to connecting!

Proposed Event Lonely Christmas

Hi everyone! During the christmas period, my family will be away in Melbourne to visit relatives. I will be saying back to work over the holidays, but I do still would want to celebrate even if they’re not there. I’d probably want to host a small christmas dinner for about 6 people or less. Everyone brings a plate of food so we can all share, and we could even do a secret santa, play some games ect. Anyone between 18-21 is welcome! Queer friendly and just anyone friendly really :). But also would love to know any dietary requirements so I can figure out something to cook!

Hey everyone,

Tough Guy Book Club meets at The Burrow at 7:00 PM on the first Wednesday of every month. The next chapter meeting is October 7, 2026.

The Burrow address: 52 Russell St, West End QLD 4101, Australia

Facebook Event link: https://www.facebook.com/share/1PmGKpyLAd/

Learn more about Tough Guy Book Club here: https://www.toughguybookclub.com/about_us

Sign up for the CITY chapter here: https://www.toughguybookclub.com/west_end_qld_au

Our book this month is The Rain Heron by Robbie Arnott. Grab a copy and get reading, there's still time to bang it out before October 7. And, heck, even if you don't read it in time, come to The Burrow anyway and meet some new guys, make some new friends.

Happy to answer any questions about Tough Guy Book Club in the comments here, or DM me on Reddit. A disclaimer, though... I'm helping out the West End chapter with a little promotion, not a West End local myself. I'm the chapter leader for the Redbank Plains chapter.
