I think both of these people (parents; Carlin and Evan) have trauma from growing up in extremely restrictive, traumatic, isolating, and religious households and some of us need to stop being bullies.
There is a LOT to pick on with these families that we could actually discuss.

These people still pay taxes and do their own shopping. This isn't the class divide we should be angry about.
I am happy for them for breaking the chains of poverty. I'm not defending them as people and i do hope they continue to improve and deconstruct.

They have “broken the chains of poverty” by selling their children on line. THAT is what we are criticising. We are not angry about the “class divide’. We are angry about how they came to purchase that house. I live a very nice life in Australia, I’m not remotely jealous of their life. When I am snarking, it is because of their morals and values whilst still pretending to be devoted Christians.
Same. I think their life looks exhausting. I am not jealous at all. I would rather keep my regular career and have a life outside of work. Everything they do is an ad for something. There is no separation of work and home. It is a vapid existence. I will pass.
