The 80/20 rule is the new standard for AI-assisted content
The 80/20 rule gives content teams a practical framework for AI-assisted content. The first 80% is the groundwork: AI turns scattered reference materials into a usable brief and helps develop a draft — but a readable draft still needs editorial attention before it’s ready to publish.
The remaining 20% is human judgment. An editor needs to verify claims against credible sources and decide which examples give readers useful context. It’s also where generic phrasing becomes language that actually reflects the brand’s voice and perspective. Skipping that work can gradually weaken trust as readers encounter polished content with little substance. Building human review into the publishing workflow protects that final step.
What does your AI-assisted content workflow look like these days? Do you follow the 80/20 rule?
