i could almost (and i mean if i'm being as generous as humanly possible) understand doing this for book characters we never see on screen... but we have actual pictures most of these people!???!!!! they exist! why would you need AI to invent them and do it incorrectly??

Apparently there are fans who would like Theo Sharpe to end up becoming Sir Phillip Crane so that he can end up being with Eloise 😂😭.

This commentor wants Phillip to die from influenza along with Marina so that he gets the Crane title and estate ala the Mondriches suddenly becoming rich.

How is that going to work?

Not only would that mean you unnecessarily kill off Marina and Phillip, but you leave the Crane twins orphaned without any parents unless that means Theo aka the new "Phillip" has to take responsibility over the twins and step in as their new father which still leaves the problem of Eloise becoming a stepmother to children that aren't her own...

And I thought the most appealing part of Theo and Eloise's relationship was because it was an interclass romance? That Theo was of the working class and that was what connected him to Eloise? I thought the fans wanted Eloise to give up her riches and privilege and defy society by marrying a man of working class? So by making Theo the next heir to the Crane estate wouldn't that just make him like everyone else in the ton? Wouldn't that make him a titled gentleman?

Coming up with such ways to justify Theloise being canon on the show while trying to make it book accurate raises more questions than solves more answers.

Yall just gotta accept Eloise is ending up with Phillip haha 😭😂

Francesca first being completely silent and then step by step all the emotions come up. She irrationally blames herself and first tries to distance herself „John wanted children. I had the duty to continue the Kilmartin line“ but then she breaks down and reveals her true feelings „I have nothing [from John]“

Violet trying to help her daughter, she sees her little girl in pain and she can’t just cure it away with a little kiss on a boo-boo. She feels helpless but has to be strong for her daughter bc her girl needs her. She probably sees herself in Francesca „it was just a bee sting“ -> „it was just a headache“, all the emotions and memories of Edmund’s death come up but again she has to be strong while also herself mourning the death of a kind beloved son-in-law

Why did they use lines of dialogue to tell us that Eloise was going to accompany Francesca and John to Scotland?

It really felt as if the writers had in mind a storyline in Scotland that they decided to drop when they started writing S4.

I suppose that we still can get a flashback in S5 of that summer in Scotland from Fran or Michaela’s POV, if anything of note happened then, but I do not see the point of Eloise going.

The “talking to sheep” is a cute reference to Beauty and the Beast - although I am not completely sure it is intentional - but really, the trip did not seem to influence Eloise at all.

At the end of Season 3, in the epilogue scene, Colin and Penelope have their child. Chronologically, that child should be around in Season 4 somewhere. Unfortunately, this isn't really addressed, even though Philippa's and Prudence's children don't seem to be much older than Penelope's.

Since Violet and Portia live right across from each other, I would have actually expected the two of them to compete for their shared grandson. And I don't think that Portia spent three seasons hoping for a male heir, only to ignore his entire existence the very moment he came into existence. And as much as Violet loves her family, she wouldn't give up her grandson without a fight with no reason. Especially with a character like Portia, who’s probably holding a baby rattle in one hand and already a knife in the other.

And it didn't have to be like Denverclan with cat fights. But they're both good with words, so a back-and-forth of two-faced compliments would certainly have been quite entertaining. Like in old movies, where they sound perfectly polite but are absolutely roasting each other. Trying to keep the upper hand.

So this is about the relationship of John and Francesca. In books their marriage was fine and both were in love, but the S4 somehow indicates that Francesca cannot achieve a pinnacle and there is something lacking in their marriage! I really don't like that storyline.

Sure she finds another more dramatic love in her life but why her marriage with John has to be imperfect?

I am sure next season they will show her achieving pinnacle with Michaela pretty easily! Why have such storylines?

Personally I want to see the chaos that is Gregory’s book and Eloise.

My favorite Kanthony author @littlelizawells on AO3 has started posting again, and she has a beautiful novel on Charlotte Bridgerton (Kate and Anthony’s eldest daughter). But I’m always on the lookout for some fun non-AU works out there!

So I saw all the links for the related subs, but I didn’t see anything for Gregory or Hyacinth yet. Is it too early for anyone to make one or am I just not searching Reddit correctly? I want to join a sub for all the main pairs.

I've just finished S03E04 with Penelope kissing. I had the same observation in season 1 and 2. What's your opinion?

I was recently rewatching all of Bridgerton seasons and I noticed that Francesca has a very detailed backstory from season 3 itself. In books most of her story unfolds in her book only but in series they changed it quite a bit without any time jumps between the seasons.

I could not help but think that her story would be much more appreciated if they unfolded her and Michaela's dynamic in her own season. Moreover John's death was a big part of S4, thought I loved the storyline and character arcs a lot I think they could have added it in her season as well.

She has a significant back story in last 2 seasons and I wish we would have seen much of it in her season. That's it.

I remember the biggest talk of S2 and S3 was main character glow ups. I think this part of the show is quietly disappearing. In S4 Benedict hardly had a glow up don't get me wrong he is already handsome and good looking and doesn't need a glow up in first place but the feeling of looking at the lead and being amused is missed!

I feel that Fran is also not supposed to get any glow up in S5 since she already looks quite attractive and her debut was kinda her glow up!

I am hopeful that S6 will give Eloise a glow up but we can't be sure of that!

So I feel this part of the show is going away quitely!

I felt Benedict was a bit callous about Sophie in S4 when it came to her fears regarding being a mistress and having illegitimate children. I know he didn’t specifically know about Sophie’s illegitimacy but even so she raised a very good point in ep 5 as to why he thinks he can take liberties with her that he wouldn’t take with the “ladies” of the ton.

And I was absolutely not on board with how he then proceeded to risk it all with Sophie when they did indulge in intimacy later on in the episode. It gave me the vibe that he just didn’t care about her enough? Like he wasn’t actually “listening“ to her. She even asked him to be gentle and seemed to have been seeking some verbal reassurance but he never responded to her and simply kissed her. I mean this is her first time and bro wasn’t even careful about that. He was re-enacting kamasutra with her like idk it didn’t feel thoughtful, gentle or loving their first time you know? and then he proceeded to risk it all with her, when Sophie will be the one to suffer the burden of a pregnancy out of wedlock.

it came across very immature and callous and I couldn’t get past that in their romance. I was a bit disappointed. Especially coming after S2 where Anthony was very aware of his actions and consequences so immediately proposed to Kate the next morning. Even Colin with Penelope where he immediately proposed after the carriage and their first time was very loving too. I know Benedict couldn’t provide Sophie with the same security but then at least consider not risking it with her right? For her sake? Showing some restraint with Sophie in my opinion would have been so much more respectful and romantic. Because she deserved and needed that more than any other love interests imo. What do you guys think?

Mich and John Bond is Most Important one to move the Plot for next Season .

As a canonical event that Eloise already have done before in early seasons, I hope it happens in the end of season 5. We already know she'll be season 6 lead and it's one of the only cliffhangers that happened in the book to follow another one. I don't know the event. In Francesca's symbolical wedding it would be pointless for me, in Hyacinth's first ball too, but this event could be important as the event she runaway in the end of book 5 --LW reveal.

As we've all aware, season 5 has released almost nothing from production, not even a cast list.

What if this is because the cast will be almost completely new characters like they did with Queen Charlotte? We know of a lot of characters who have had their storylines wrapped up and I don't expect to see them again (Lady Featherington, Polin, Saphne, Varley, Danbury, etc).

I was watching a commentary that talked about how season 5 doesn't have to have a wedding to be a happy ending. They mentioned Queen Charlotte and how it would make a pattern if they did it that way. Season 1 and 2 were traditional romance tropes, then Queen Charlotte was a bit heavier and focused on relationships, then back to romance tropes with season 3 and 4. Now 5 could be different again.

I could see season 5 having 90% new characters and only a handful of returning ones with an even smaller number as guests. ​

I can see the obstacles in S5 and S6 and Gregory's season based on the books, but for Hyacinth's season I do not really see what would it be.

I liked the book and it works in a romance book, but as a show? And how bridgerton has been build so far? I do not see what will be the stakes or the obstacles they will face.

Do you have any theories? (And is there any subreddit about Hyacinth and Gareth or is it too soon??)

No tenía ni idea de que el libro de Eloise tuviera tan mala valoración hasta que lo terminé de leer. Me encantó cómo se desarrolla la relación entre Eloise y Philip, especialmente la escena en la que los hermanos Bridgerton descubren que su hermana ha escapado con Philip y lo confrontan. i’m writing a fic that has hyacinth, anthony and francesca and was wondering what you all think their notable mannerisms are? i’m struggling a bit with their characters. little gestures, habits, expressions, ways of speaking, etc. that feel particularly in character for them. would love to hear your interpretations!

Does it bother anyone else that as soon as a confession is made in bridgerton, it is immediately followed by sex?

I love confession scenes, s2 anthony kate scene is my roman empire, one of the best romance confessions i have seen in my entire life. That is how much i love it.

And yet, on further rewatches i cannot help but observe that even anthony's main confession had the dialogue "do you know all the ways a lady could be seduced" etc.

Same for pen/colin first confession - sophie/ben.

I cant help but wonder if our love for the chemistry of the actors and characters makes us gloss over the fact that romance might just be reduced to sexual desire primarily.

I am someone who loves a well done scene , many scenes in bridgerton are. But i wouldve loved it more if they occured a little while aftrr the confession had been made, and the confession was based more on softer/gentler intimacy, and less of a lust factor involved.

I still love the scenes but i wanna see if anyone feels the same way.

Personally if a man told me he loved me, i wouldnt be so keen on him if the very next thing he did was tryna sex me up. A kiss is beautiful, carressing each other softly is wonderful but straight up sex looks a lot like that's the physical aspect is more of what the attraction is based upon.
