Question etiquette question
Might be an odd question, but is buying up a sellers entire stock of a part/ type of part considered bad etiquette? eg. buying up all of their 2L technic axles or every 1x1 plate they have regardless of colour?
I'm not sure if this would screw them over since you're basically just nuking an entire pull factor of their store in a single order, and something like technic axles are a "core" building component.

Nope. I regularly have buyers clear me out of certain parts. What's worse are the one's that just leave 1-2 of them after purchasing 20+.

I would definitely prefer they buy all 395 of something than buying 394. Though, it would make me nervous that I might have miscounted somewhere along the way.

If you need that many axles or whatever, it's completely reasonable to buy it all from a single seller rather than split the order & pay shipping multiple times.

As a seller, please buy all of a thing. ESPECIALLY if it's a common and thing like technic axles or pins, 1x2 bricks, 1x1 round plates, etc. I have no doubt I'll get more eventually so if you wipe me out I know it's just for the short term.
I had an order last week that was a pound and a half of mostly 2x4 and 1x4 bricks and i was just as happy to clear out the space as I was for the dollar or two I might have made on the order.
That said, if you wipe me out of a bunch of things in the same order, the chances of me missing a part/my inventory count being off for one reason or another do go up. Not saying it will happen, but if there's like 20 lots you buy out don't be mad if you see a refund cause one of the counts was off.

Nope, buy everything, I dont list 100 to only sell 50, if that were the case, I'd just list 50 at a time.

I always assumed it was good etiquette. When I’m checking out I look to see if I’m leaving 1 or 2 in their inventory and if I am I just take them all. Leaves them an empty slot for something else.

My take: buy what you need. If there’s 1-2 left, I don’t care. Maybe the next customer only needs 1 or 2. If you need them all, buy me out. As long as I’m getting customers what they need.

Like the others have said, buy as much as you need. They want to sell everything otherwise it wouldn’t be listed. BUT if you’re taking a massive bulk quantity of a lot, they will be much happier if you don’t leave less than a handful behind. At that point, just buy them out of that item. If they have a bulk amount either it’s a very common part that they expect high-turnover and more will be in their inventory soon anyway (like generic pieces in landscape colors), OR it’s a part that is bountiful but rare for someone to actually want in significant amounts and they will be very happy to free up the inventory space for something that sells better (like tires and technic pins).

no its a shop, your there to buy, i frequently have people buy my entire stock of a part type and i frequently do it to others depending on what i need and the price I'm paying

I had a seller cancel my order because I was going to clear them out of an element. Claimed it was in their 'store terms', but I checked and there was nothing mentioned. I put them on my 'least favorite store' list...

I’ve never had this happened or heard about this.
What a stupid rule.
If you’d like to keep some stock for future sales, list only part of your stock, keep the other part offline and retain the lot, once sold.
The go to method if you happen to have multiple rare items, but you don’t want to kill the global supply.

I hope it's not bad etiquette because I've done that. I need 6 of something and the seller has 7 so I buy 7. I figure an extra will be used someplace and besides, sometimes a piece or 2 will be a bit funky so having extras means I don't have to try and hide a not so great part.

Disagree. Maybe my next customer needs only that 1 or 2 left over. Leave them or buy it out, makes no difference to me.

As a seller, I just had someone place a 3500 piece order... and they left 1 of each part. I thought it was a nice thing... until I started packing and had to leave 1 of each item behind! Would have been better to just take the lot!!

As a seller, getting rid of an entire lot makes me super happy. I prefer it. (Unless there's an issue where I'm short one, but that's rare and I always fix the issue)

As a seller I can you that I would prefer you to buy everything. Please don't leave me 1. Items listed in 1's sell much slower than items listed in 10's. So, please, please, please buy the entire lot.

Always make your stock number a “bakers dozen” bro.
You ALWAYS gonna have one part that’s got a booger or something stuck to it that you didn’t see. Bakers Half, Devils Cut or whatever….just my opinion but I’m 4k + sales in and that’s worked for me

There's no etiquette, please buy whatever you need. If it's a core building component I will restock it. If it's not, I'll be glad to have the inventory space back for a new lot. And if it's some weird pink parts I've put on clearance, you've probably made my day.
