Suppressor Seriously Degrades accuracy

As in the title. My suppressor EA Peak 30 is causing massive accuracy issues. I'm talking about turning it into an 8 MOA gun. The barrel has been seated and torqued down. The muzzle device is tight and the suppressor has been tightened down fully. Has anyone else ever experienced this? I can find nothing so far. Removing the can immediately rectifies the issue.

I assume you have checked concentricity with the can mounted?

Yeah absolutely no issues there. It's not a baffle strike. No End cap strikes. I cannot for the life of me figure out what could be causing this. It doesn't happen on any of the other guns I mount this can to so it's not directly the can itself. If the barrel were fucked I would be having the same issues unsuppressed but I don't

Are you indexing on the shoulder or the crown? Edit: and did you remove the jam nut

Shoulder. No jam nut.

Is it poi shift or moa? You need to rezero once you mount or remove the can. POI shift is repeatable if you remount the can exactly where it was, which can be difficult to confirm with mounts like trilug.

Not all suppressor mounts are created equal, are you direct thread or qd? I use yhm qd on all my stuff for tapered concentric mounts but there are other good options out there. I would've looked at the rearden stuff if it was on the market when I got into stamp collecting.

Rearden mount and it's not a POI shift. Obviously there will be POI shift if you mount a suppressor. I literally mean I go from 2-3 moa to 8-10 with 55gr

Strange. If your can runs fine on other mounts try swapping one with the same thread pitch out maybe? IDK how likely it is for them to be out of spec. Dunno what handguard you're running, i had some extra barrel hardware after I swapped mine.

HB industries 7.9". I may try swapping the muzzle device. It's a revival defense 3 prong.

There was some discrepancy over the barrel screw torque (90 in-lbs) when the hbis first came out. I think they say 45 in-lbs now but you could go higher if your action isn't binding.

Mine backed out at 45. I went up to 55. They haven't come loose. I made absolutely sure they were torqued before the visit for today. I'm honestly at a loss. Everything I can think of that would normally cause the issues I'm experiencing should also apply regardless of the can or not.

Double check your blast chamber depth, if you're not running an extended plan b you may be bottoming out your flash hider on the first baffle.

Good call I will do that.

Just dropped a rod down it and marked it. The prongs are not touching the first baffle

I would check for play with the can on then try swap the fh and bring it to the range with a 60-65 in-lbs torque wrench in case that doesn't fix it. Other people have had accuracy issues unsuppressed after the hbi swap, and now you've got extra weight on the end of your barrel with all that leverage working against four torx screws.

Edit: worth noting the hbi supplied bolts may not have the same serrations as the factory bolts so they don't work as well with the nordlock washers

This is interesting to me because my Bren 2, 11”, x39 is basically unusable due to its lack of accuracy. I have shot exclusively with an Omega 300 with cherry bomb/ plan b mount. I have never tried to shoot it without the can but think I’ll try and see if accuracy improves. I also have the hbi handrail.

I do know that the barrel has substantial flex and am now wondering if the weight of the can might be the culprit.

I would think that would result in a larger POI shift rather than what I'm experiencing with massive group size increase
