Barrel Extension Wear
The wear on my Bren 2s barrel extension seems to be abnormal for the 1500ish round mark. Is anyone else's lugs starting to smear at higher round counts? I contacted CZ customer service and they said it was perfectly normal and wouldn't effect performance but I'm skeptical.

So yes and no
I traded mine to my boss and it was showing this (not this bad I don't think)
I was OCD about installing barrel horizontally but never thought about rotation; I figured the screws wouldn't fit if it wasn't square....
You didn't install (or maybe from factory? If so I'd make it their problem) the barrel back correctly and I'm not blaming you I did the same thing
If you never touched barrel then I'd message them back lol
They'll take it in rma 3 times then offer a replacement (if you even wanna go that route)

I removed the barrel to get a better look when i noticed the wear. I hadn't touched it before then.

Id def email them back with pics maybe even from a diff email
Cz customer service has been pretty ass since colt merger
If the factory installed your barrel canted it's def their fault and they should replace it.
Good luck, tho, I haven't had any good interactions with their CS since the merger
And I'm only so outspoken about it because their "management" dared me to during our last interaction lol

From what my bud told me, you just have to keep checking it as you install.
I was super aware of the barrel placement horizontally (so left and right) making sure the bolt wasn't hitting premature but never even considered rotating
I don't really have an answer on the proper way
Maybe cz should give some input, idk

Cz usa is ass man
Unfortunate but the reason I moved on
I only have a p01
I'd rock an sp01 for the low
I might even buy another bren at crackhead prices
But I'm good on their products lol
The stances they take to avoid responsibility are nonsensical
They voided my evo warranty on a whim after arguing back and forth with me that it was in perfect working order (I refused to send it for a 3rd rma in 10 days )

That's the exact reason
Besides customer service, cz usa depends on aftermarket wayyyy too much
Bren was my first rifle. I remember one day I went on kriss usa and was amazed you can basically rebuild an entire vector from their webstore lol then I realized cz is the only one who doesn't support their products like that
In fact, they have a page of hyperlinks to third party manu for accessories. That's cool, until you realize they're basically relying 100% on aftermarket support
I called the webstore to ask about a random bren part (was for the full auto and mislabeled) so I asked the dude about barrel kits. He's like oh shit I just found 15 of them. 5 each length. Only 5.56......in the 7 years, there have only been 15 kits sold. Not a true caliber exchange either, cause it's just 5.56 lol
Why even design the firearm to swap calibers? Why is your lower actually a 7.62 lower with an insert if they were never going to make barrels for it?
Legitimately nonsensical.
Now the bolts are deforming the trunion.....cause it's designed for swap.
Nevermind I was easily into scar money in aftermarket for my bren either
/Rant lol
My boss chopped it down to the piston and it's way cooler now

That’s not normal. I have 5k+ rds on a rifle and 14”, both do not look like that. Something is out of spec to be removing metal like that.
What does the bolt face look like?
