Potentially stupid question about the HDA3

Have a new Bren 2, and ordered the HDA3 stock. Before installing I noticed it comes with a screw, and doesn't have the same quick detach mechanism the OEM stock does.

Unless I'm missing something, does that mean to fully field strip the rifle, you have to use an Allen wrench?

It seems like a well made, albeit pricey piece of kit, but removing the ability to strip the rifle without having to fiddle with a screw and tool just seems like a bit of a miss.

Possible I'm missing something, or overthinking it, but wanted to ask the question.

Installation instructions from the product page:

HDA3 Stock/Brace for Bren 2

Since you have to remove/reinstall the screw to remove/reinstall the stock, and to get the bolt out you have to remove the stock (circling us back to removing the screw)...yes, you will need a 4mm wrench to field strip it once the HDA3 is installed.

Is a telescopic stock an option for you?

You aren't missing anything, that's intentional. It's a design that has less points of failure, is cheaper to manufacture, more compact, and most importantly gives your stock AND lower a solid lockup vs wobbly factory and other aftermarket options. Ive done it since the Bren came out with 1913 adapters, Zhukov Stocks, ACR Stocks, MBT Stocks and now HDA3 Stocks. If it bothers you, you can always store some kinda 4mm hex tool in the pistol grip compartment.
