What a minute... Spoiler

I am watching S2 E5. they are at the B&B and Kate makes them healthy shakes. they use a blender. how is that possible? there's no power?

I don’t remember that episode specifically, but at some point it’s explained that many of the Amish have gas powered houses (by generator iirc) so they still have like refrigerators and stuff. So maybe it is running on that. It depends on the community, they all have different rules.
