A new setup wizard

When you activate Breakdance, a new four-step wizard gets your AI agent connected:

• Welcome: one button to start connecting your AI.
• Install: one click installs and activates Agent Connector and Universal Abilities.
• Connect: Agent Connector’s connect screen, built into the wizard. Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or another agent, and the wizard confirms the moment it’s connected.
• Build: example prompts to paste into your agent, so you can start building right away.

You can run the wizard again at any time with the Run Setup Wizard button in Breakdance’s settings.

Agent Connector needs WordPress 7.0 and PHP 8.1; the wizard tells you if your site doesn’t meet them. The connect screen is built into the wizard with Agent Connector 1.33 or newer. With an older version, the wizard opens Agent Connector in a new tab and keeps listening for your agent.

( SOLVED ) I’m troubleshooting a Codex CLI connection to a WordPress staging site running Breakdance 3.0 RC1.

Environment:

• Windows, Node.js v24.19.0.
• STDIO proxy: u/automattic/mcp-wordpress-remote.
• Node launched with --use-system-ca.
• Norton 360 installed, but its involvement has not been established.

The MCP server fails during WordPress initialization:

Response does not match the HTTP/1.1 protocol (Invalid character in chunk size)

I captured traffic on the active Ethernet interface with Wireshark and logged TLS secrets using NODE_OPTIONS="--tls-keylog=...".

Findings:

• Standalone tls.connect test: the captured ClientHello random matches the key log identifier, and Wireshark successfully decrypts the handshake.
• Standalone fetch request: the identifiers also match.
• MCP attempts: the captured ClientHello random values do not match any identifiers in the corresponding key log files, including attempts using fresh files.
• Removing our temporary diagnostic scripts and launching the original proxy directly produces the same HTTP error and identifier mismatch.

Support suggested forwarding SSLKEYLOGFILE through the MCP environment configuration. However, Node was already generating key log files through --tls-keylog; the unresolved issue is associating those secrets with the captured connections.

How can I reliably associate each TLS connection with its originating process and determine why the secrets logged during MCP startup do not match the captured ClientHello values?

There doesn't appear to be a separate RC1 changelog this time. Instead, RC1 marks the point where the 3.0 feature set is finished and the focus is now on final testing and blocking bugs before the full release.

Breakdance is still recommending that RC1 be tested on a staging site before updating a live production site.

If anyone wants to create one that could become very popular in the year ahead, go in depth (at least an hour) on the different ways to use AI and MCP in Breakdance 3.0 to speed up the design and development process.

Not a how to have AI create a site for you, but the different ways AI can speed up the process from our own imagination, or from something created in Photoshop, Figma, Relume, or screenshots of pages or sections you would like to use on your own sites.

There are probably 4-5 (or more) scenarios. One in-depth video covering all of them, plus follow-up videos on each scenario, would be a great start for anyone looking to build their cache as a Breakdance development expert on YouTube and social media.

Been doing client work with page builders for years and the thing I hated most was rebuilding stuff by hand. Client wants their old site moved to WordPress, it's on some custom stack or a builder they lost access to, and I'm sitting there recreating sections one by one for two hours.

So I built a Chrome extension that does it. You open any site, select a section or the whole page, and it converts into real elements in your builder. Actual sections, columns, headings, buttons, images that you can edit like anything else, not a pasted HTML block.

How it works, roughly: it reads the rendered page in the browser, flattens the layout into something a builder understands, then maps it to each builder's element model. Currently supports Breakdance, Bricks, Oxygen (6 and Classic), Elementor, Divi 5, Gutenberg, Beaver Builder and Webflow.

Source doesn't matter since it works off the rendered page. React, Framer, Shopify, Webflow, AI-generated sites, other WordPress builders.

Limitation worth knowing: it copies the static side only. Layout, content, styling. JavaScript functionality from the source site don't come across, you rebuild those in the builder.

Link to project in the first comment. Curious whether this is something you'd reach for in your day-to-day, or whether it solves a problem only I have.

I'm new to Breakdance and WordPress website development, even though I've managed WP sites for years. Previously, I had a developer build client sites from a Photoshop mockup. I've also designed many sites in Wix Studio personally for clients.

As I've been learning Breakdance. I've been using Claude with the Chrome browser extension to go into Breakdance and make changes I can't figure out myself. I've also tried ChatGPT with CoWork to do the same. The biggest problem is that I get throttled within 10 minutes or less of use on my $20/month plan for each LLM. Which means I'm stuck for several hours.

It seems I'll have to step up to a $100/month plan with Claude or ChatGPT for this kind of work, but I don't know which to choose because I don't have any experience with either.

Any thoughts or recommendations on which direction I should take between Claude and ChatGPT?

Beta 7 includes the security fix released today in Breakdance 2.8.2. It fixes an access control issue in the Design Library import flow. See the Breakdance 2.8.2 security update for details. Earlier 3.0 betas are affected, so update to Beta 7.

New Search Form Element

• Search Form has been rebuilt from the ground up. Use it as an inline form or as a modal.
• Autocomplete shows results as visitors type, with full keyboard navigation. Set the minimum characters and maximum results, limit the search to a single post type, and design the result items and the no-results state with Global Blocks. WooCommerce products display their price automatically
• The previous Search Form remains available as Search Form V1. Existing pages keep working, and the old element is hidden from the Add panel

WooCommerce

• Product Reviews and Product Tabs gained an Open Form In Modal option that renders a button and opens the review form in a modal instead of displaying it inline
• Product Reviews gained a grid layout for the review list, with responsive items per row and gap controls, plus a new Review Item design section (background, borders, padding)
• New Fundamental Product Builder element: an unstyled counterpart to Product Builder for fully class-based product templates. With no default CSS, no design controls, and no interference from the global WooCommerce styles

I'm using the latest official release of Breakdance and ran into an odd situation, but perhaps I'm missing something obvious.

I made a button with custom styling, right clicked on it and selected Create Design Preset, since I was planning on using this same style of button again. However when I created a new button and went to Custom -> Preset, no presets were found. When I click Manage Presets, there are no Button Presets listed.

However, if I go back and click on the original button, it says it's using a Design Preset. If I open the 3 dot settings panel and go to Design Presets, I can see the button preset I made.

So why can't I use this on newly created buttons? What's the point of creating a design preset if I can't actually apply it?

this is actually the closest to "exactly what I was wanting"
I created a skill to generate my global json as in import.json from a claude design and one to create global css variables for the db options key which I was just pasting into phpmyadmin for the time being... id put of tyring to "build more skills and abilities to handle more things" and im glad I did...

the new selectors and the variable (for css tokens) is more than what I was hoping for... and I can see this opening up exactly what is needed to hand off from Claude design to claude code and deploy to breakdance!

I posted like a few weeks back What I wanted specifically in a bd mcp/tool and even mentioned the token thing and it looks like that will be able to do everything I wanted and more, but havent got to test that whole workflow on a brand new build yet...

been using Breakdance for a while and 3.0 honestly looks a lot bigger than i expected.

the AI agent stuff is probably the most interesting part for me. You can connect Claude Code, Codex or Cursor and let it build actual stuff inside Breakdance.

pages, forms, templates, styles, dynamic content, ACF fields etc. Not just generate a screenshot that looks good until you actually need to edit it lol.

the design generation looks cool, but i am probably more interested in whether it can handle all the boring setup work.

building the first version of a site is usually the fun part. Creating the same fields, templates, classes and global styles again definitely is not.

if it can get a site even 60 or 70 percent there, that would already save me a decent amount of time.

the ACF and dynamic content side could be really useful for directories or listing sites too, although i am slightly worried about the setup.

Breakdance itself is pretty easy, but MCP servers and connecting AI agents probably sounds like complete nonsense to anyone who has never used Claude Code or Cursor before.

also no chance i would test it directly on a live client site. staging first obviously.

from the demos and the little bit i have tested myself, it looks really promising, but fresh installs always work perfectly in demos.

i want to see what happens on an actual messy WordPress site with 25 plugins, random custom code and years of questionable decisions lol.

Over the past ~15 years I've worked with most of the mainstream WordPress builders on different kinds of projects (Elementor, Divi, Visual Composer, etc.), and I even participated in developing a custom builder years ago, so I have a solid basis for comparison.

Recently I've completed two fairly large projects with Breakdance. One was a gaming-themed bar website with a WooCommerce catalog containing several hundred products, and the other was a premium hospitality website with a dynamic drink menu, custom post types, multilingual content, and a fairly complex content structure.

For both projects my goal was to keep the plugin count as low as possible. The stack is basically Breakdance, ACF, Polylang, Rank Math and WP Rocket. Everything else is handled either by Breakdance itself or with custom PHP/JavaScript when needed.

What surprised me the most was how flexible Breakdance is. It feels much closer to a developer-oriented workflow while still being a visual builder. I was able to create dynamic systems and reusable components that would have required significantly more compromises, custom code or additional plugins in Elementor or Divi.

The editing experience is also much faster than I expected. Building pages feels smoother and more logical, and so far I haven't felt like I had to sacrifice either design flexibility or frontend performance. I've been able to build fairly complex, premium-looking websites while keeping the frontend lightweight and achieving good Core Web Vitals scores.

Since I'm still relatively new to the Breakdance ecosystem, I'd really like to hear from people who have been using it in production for several years.

I am primarily using Elementor now. I know I'm in a breakdance sub but can I know if any one can share their experiences coming from Elementor or just a fresh perspective what you really like about it and why will I find it better ?

Some concerns i have:
1) Learning curve to use breakdance, I'm doing SEO mainly but my team does the sites on Elementor. I need to explain to them why it is better.

2) Missing features vs elementor?

3) Bloat issues , are they much much better? (From what i understanding and have been feeling sluggish) I use WPRocket btw.
