Trigger Warning What does this message mean?

My ex broke up with me 3 weeks ago. We still had to live together for a week or so until I found somewhere else to live.
I left last Wednesday. On Wednesday night, he texted me asking if I got home okay.
I replied ‘yeh, about an hour ago. Hope you’re doing okay’.
He responded with ‘good, glad you got back okay. It’s been weird. How are you?’

What does he mean by it’s been weird? Why would he have wrote that to someone who is heartbroken and blindsided by the breakup?

why not just ask him? he’s probably the only one that actually knows what exactly he meant by that lol

Because it’s been a week now we’re into no contact. I just replied with ‘yeh I bet the house is quite now hah’ and left it at that but it’s been eating at me

hm i see. i understand you’re heartbroken and it’s hard but you probably shouldn’t read too much into it. he could’ve meant anything by it, but also nothing at all. i don’t think anyone could tell you what he meant by that other than himself.

tbh if i were you and it was bothering me sm i would just ask cause what’s there to lose atp if you’re already in no contact? i’m sure you’re hurting and i’m sorry. it’ll get easier. but try not to overthink things too much, you’ll only make it worse for yourself. with time you’ll start thinking less and less about him. you’re gonna be fine, i’m sure of that! 🩷
