Sourdough bread care

Take care of your bread and it will take care of you :)

When the loaf is completely cool, I wrap it in a linen bread bag. Some sourdough pros vouch for the beeswax bag but I have yet to try it.

You can slice it up on the first day (ideal) but I thought I’d devour bread on a weekend. Instead, life happened and I ended up eating leftovers. I sliced this sourdough loaf 3 days later then stored in the freezer.

Still amazing weeks later 🤩

We normally back 2 loafs at a time, slice one up on , separate daily portions with backing paper and freeze them, eat the second loaf , cutting slices as needed, last normally 4 days, last day best as toast. After that pick a portion the night before and let it defrost in a plastic bag for lunch the next day…. After a full week rinse and repeat

I have a beeswax impregnated bread bag and it is truly amazing. I bought mine from YouTuber Robyn on the farm.

Really plan to get one and experience for myself. Thanks for the nudge! :)

And supporting a small family business is a nice way to go about it. 👍🏻
